"Bye Luke!" Victoria cheered, waving him off. She and I had just dropped our new Aussie friend off at his next class. He turned around and gave us a quick wave and a smile before disappearing into his classroom.

"God, he's so cute." she giggled as she hooked her arm into mine. I rolled my eyes as we walked towards our next class together.

"I still say he's weird." I said matter-of-factly. She gave me a look and I shrugged.

"He was not being weird. I'm sure he was just nervous." she said confidently.

"Nervous about what?" I asked, clueless.

"You're really stupid, aren't you?" she sighed, covering her face with her right hand and shaking her head. I blinked at her. What was so obvious that I didn't get?

"What?" I urged.

"Nevermind." she shook her head, smiling triumphantly, perfectly aware that she knew something I didn't.

"No, tell me!"

"I will when the time is right."

---------

"Is the time right now?" I whispered.

"No, shut up." Vic whispered back.

"Now is the perfect time." I argued, still whispering.

"We're in class."

"I don't car-"

"Would the two of you like to share your conversation with us?" our bald-headed calculus teacher said in a purposefully loud tone, causing all heads to turn our way. Victoria lowered her eyes, but I was a bit annoyed.

"Don't you know it's rude to interrupt other people's conversations, Mr. A?" I retorted, earning myself an angry warning look from him. He was always my favorite teacher to mess with, mostly because he was so easily irritated.

"Detention, Ms. Daniels." he said firmly, but the sneer was almost obvious on his face, "But I suppose you've already been given detention today?"

"Actually, no. You're the first taker of the day, Baldy." I smirked. A few snickers could be heard ringing around the classroom, which only caused the old man's face to turn redder than it already was. I couldn't tell if it was from anger or embarrassment.
