(Day before Tyler's party and also my birthday)
Will took me out to brunch that actually turned into a late lunch because we sat there for hours just talking. We've done this before but not in a while. Probably since his birthday in March. We always go to this small diner type place around the corner from my apartment. It's cheap but they have great food. Will actually had to go because he had a gig. So pretty much my birthday night I'm gonna be alone.
I arrived at my apartment and opened the door. On the floor was an envelope. I shut my door and picked up the envelope. I went over to my couch and opened the envelope. It's from Tyler.
Happy Birthday Emily,
I hope you're reading this after you had a fun filled day with Will and you just got home at eleven. If not then hopefully you will definitely have fun tomorrow at my party. If you don't want to wait that long and you're reading this before five I'm gonna text you my address at five. I'm inviting you over for dinner. If you are with Will and you got my text you can invite him. I'd be nice to meet him. I know what you may be thinking, 'Do I have to dress nice if I'm going to have dinner with Tyler?'. Well you don't. Just wear what you are wearing right now. Also if you are home alone before five, call me. I may still be with my brother though. I'll talk to you soon Emily.
Happy Birthday (Again),
Tyler
I got a birthday card, kind of, from Tyler but not my own parents. It just shows how much my parents love me. My phone buzzed. I put the card and envelope down and looked at my phone. It's a text from Tyler giving me his address like he said and saying I can come over for dinner unless I'm busy. I don't know if I should go to Tyler's. It's just kind of odd. I mean he chose me as his photographer for his party and he's already bought me lunch and now is inviting me to his house for dinner. I feel like this is turning into something more than me just being his photographer.
I ended up driving to Tyler's place because I don't feel like being alone. It is my birthday and no one should be alone on their birthday. At least that is what people say. I pulled into a driveway of a beautiful house. I turned my car off and got out. I closed the door and locked my car. This is gonna be the biggest house I'll ever be in. I walked up to the front door. I'm still unsure about this. Ugh, I don't know. Isn't he technically my boss? This is kind of weird isn't it? I should leave shouldn't I? Ugh, come on Emily! Decide on what you're gonna do!
"Hi." The front door opened and Tyler had a big smile on. He's dressed nicely.
"Hi." I smiled.
"Come in." He moved to the side and let me in. He closed the door and I looked at him.
"Am I underdressed or something because you look dressed up?" I questioned.
"Oh no. I was with family then went out with my brother for a bit. I meant to change but I didn't get to it yet. I actually just got home about three minutes ago."
"Oh ok."
"Well make yourself at home. I'm actually cooking some dinner up. I'll be back. I'm gonna get changed." He smiled and walked away. I followed the scent of the food and into the kitchen. I set my keys down on the counter. It smells like something is burning. I looked into the oven and all the sudden the chicken in there caught fire. What the hell?!
"Tyler! Fire!" I shouted and turned the oven off. I started to scramble through the cabinets looking for the fire extinguisher. Tyler came rushing in and opened a cabinet down below next to the fridge. He quickly opened the oven and started to put out the fire. Once the fire was out he set the fire extinguisher on the counter.
