Nick's POV. I was confused as all hell, we no longer got through the door and there stood Dalton and his grandmother, along with three or four other people, who were discussing something rather aggressively.
Jade just watched from a distance and she looked rather worried.
"Anything you wanna tell me now, Jade?" I ask, concerned.
Jade looks just as shook as I do.
"No, I have no idea what happened," Jade replies and I could tell she was telling the truth.
I nod my head and walk up to Dalton's grandmother, we didn't get along the best, but for Jade's sake, I let her come to see Dalton.
"Nick, your sister, and Dalton have been destroying the flea market. Many booth workers' have come to us with complaints about how they act, this is not a playground and they sure treat it like one," A lady explains, aggravation and slight snobbishness was relevant in her voice.
"Excuse me? What have they done?" I ask, shocked, but I could feel anger rising within me.
"Do you have proof? I mean, this place has so many cameras, you should have proof if they did it," Zayn started getting seriously defensive and I could tell he was getting angry.
"We didn't do anything! We were inside two peoples' booths the entire time last time!! The cameras didn't catch us doing anything because we did nothing!" Jade hollers, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm not gonna be framed for shit I didn't do!" Jade sucked in a deep breath and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Hey, it's alright. I'll get it handled," Dalton stood in front of Jade and comforted her.
"Dalton, take her other there to the bench so we can all talk," I invite, pointing to the bench. Jade followed Dalton to the bench and took a seat, calming her breathing and anger down.
"Alright, I wanna know what happened," I order, folding my arms across my chest and narrowing my eyes at the lady.
Zayn spun around in a circle, exhaling loudly while he leaned up against a door and listened to our conversation.
"We were informed, by many people that Jade and Dalton were being hectic. Screaming, hollering, running around, not moving out of people's way, going into random booths' and acting like little kids'. I've heard it from many people, so you aren't going to sit here and tell me your sister wouldn't do something like that," The lady explains, rolling her eyes at the end, which I really didn't appreciate.
"Alright, look here, lady. I didn't ask for your snobby ass attitude, neither did Nick. We asked what happened, I want proof and I want it now. Video proof that Jade was doing any of this bullshit you say she was doing," Zayn interveined, walking up the lady.
"Alright, follow me, I have video proof," The lady motions us to follow her.
I follow behind her, Zayn hanging out behind us.
The lady walks down a long hallway but then just stops.
"This booth right here, Jade came by and knocked down this rack full of clothes and thought it was funny, that was caught on camera," The lady voices. "The owner is here now, he'll handle this situation."
A man walked up and just looked at us, he was an older man, beige pants and a tan looking plaid shirt on, big glasses and a toothpick hanging out the side of his mouth. He had a flip phone on his side, along with a wallet in his top pocket on his shirt. His image made me laugh a bit on the inside, but this honestly wasn't any laughing matter, so I pushed it aside and gave him a glance.
"All of ya'll are out of here, I don't care who did what, I ain't putting up with it. Out, or I'm calling the police," The man spoke, his first words to us, which was incredibly rude and arrogant.
"Excuse me?" Zayn interrupted. "Last I checked, we were going to the see the footage of what Jade and Dalton supposedly did, I ain't leaving til' I see it," Zayn crosses his arms and stands firmly in front of the older man.
"Leave or I'll call the cops, those are your choices," The man spoke again like he was talking to toddlers instead of adults.
"I want to see the footage," I voice, eyeing him.
Dalton and Jade came around the corner, Jade looked much calmer, but Dalton was tense and he looked worried and angry.
"No, I'm calling the cops," The old man replied, pulling out his flip phone.
"You're a lying bastard. You told us you had footage, you don't, do ya? You're just pissed because a couple kids are coming and hanging out, talking to the other people here, not buying anything and it's pissing you off. Well, guess what? This world doesn't revolve around you, or anyone for that matter. And as soon as you notice that, you'll do a lot better in life. Now, show me the tapes," Zayn orders, narrowing his eyes at the old man.
"I said leave," The man spoke, dialing a number.
"Come on, Zayn. We have kids, we don't have to come back to this shit dump anyways," I speak up, stepping in front of Zayn and the older man.
I know my brother, he is extremely protective and can be aggressive at times, so I don't want to take a chance.
"No, I want to see the tapes," Zayn responds, standing his ground.
After a couple of minutes, a bigger younger dude showed up, I'm guessing it was possibly the older man's son.
"I'm going to ask you to leave, the police have been called and I would advise you to get out of here before they get here," The younger dude spoke, he was wearing a name tag which had 'Jake' on it.
Jake placed his hand on Zayn's shoulder and tried to escort him out the door, but that was a big mistake on Jake's part.
"Don't fucking touch me! I want to see the fucking tapes! You aren't going to sit around and talk bullshit and then not be able to back it up!" Zayn hollered, causing a lot of people to look at him.
I knew it was time to just let it go and get Zayn out of here before he ended up hurting someone with that temper of his.
"Come on were leaving!" I raise my voice slightly, giving Zayn a shove backward to get his attention.
"No! I want to find out the truth! They're kicking us out for no reason at all! This is bullshit, Nick!" Zayn raises his voice and eyes the people, his fists clenching while he inhales deep breaths.
"I know it is! But, we have kids to raise and we don't need involved with the cops. Jade can still see Dalton at school and this place is the worst place for our kids to be around. Now, come on. These people aren't worth the breath nor energy that we are wasting on them," I explained, grabbing a hold of Zayn's arm and pulling him away from them.
Zayn reluctantly followed along behind me, Jade was right beside me, she seemed kind of distant and still agitated, which I understood.
I mean, she was just framed for something that she may or may not have done.
So, when I get home, I reckon I should find out the real truth.
