Zayn's POV. I heard weird noises coming from upstairs, the kids were playing upstairs so I expected some noise but this noise was like a ball bouncing off the wall or floor and the kids know better than to ever play with a ball while they are in the house.
I was just about to walk upstairs when an argument between Bryant and Kevin rose to my ears.
I hate it when they start an argument, it gets loud and I hate arguments, most of the time they give me headaches.
"What's going on, guys? Why is there an argument going on this early in the afternoon?" I asked, quirking a single eyebrow.
All I get is two glances and they go back at it like I wasn't even there.
"Guys! Quit it!" I raise my voice a bit, the patience I did have, was gone.
I hate being ignored.
I look at both of them and cross my arms over my chest.
I expected Bryant to at least pay me some attention considering he was the oldest, but he freaking didn't. "I'm going to ask one more time, what's wrong? Why are you two fighting?" I ask, my tone turning into a firm stern tone as I look at both of them, waiting for my answer.
"First of all, he woke me up this morning, way too earlier. Second, I wanted pancakes, not freaking nasty ass eggs, I'm tired of this bullshit!" Kevin yells before I can even really blink, the back of my hand pops him in the mouth.
He knows that I will not tolerate that kind of cursing and disrespectfulness, it is not accepted in this household.
"Owww!!! I'm sorry!! But it's still not fair!!" Kevin cries, covering his mouth with both his hands as he peers between Bryant and me.
"Do you need a lecture with my hand? Maybe even my belt?" I ask, eyeing Kevin.
He frantically shakes his head no and backs up a couple steps. "Answer me," I state sternly, eyeing Kevin again.
"No, sir. I'm sorry, please, I'll be good," Kevin mutters silently, averting his attention to the floor.
I walk over and raise his head up to look at me, my expression and tone softer now.
"Listen, you know the rules around here. You know you have a certain time you need to be up by, regardless if you want too. This breakfast thing, I find it extremely rude, because lots of kids don't even get breakfast, yet you aren't happy about the breakfast you did get. Be grateful for what you have Kevin, trust me, you don't know what you have, til' you lose it. Use them words of yours wisely because sometimes those words can hurt people deeper than anything. I know we all have bad days, but that is not an excuse to be rude and disrespectful. I have taught you a lot better than that, I ain't gonna spank you this time but I damn sure will next time if I catch you using that vulgar language again. Clear, Kevin?" I lecture, giving him a firm look when I finish.
Kevin nods his head quickly.
"Yes, sir. I'm sorry, I won't speak like that again to anyone," Kevin assures me, giving me a half-smile before turning around and heading towards the living room, most likely to play around with the other kids.
The noise once again filled my ears, my whole concentration on it now being there wasn't an argument flooding into my ears at the same time.
It did indeed sound like a rubber ball bouncing off the walls, which pissed me off because they know the rules about balls inside the house.
I begin to walk upstairs, listening to the bouncing get louder and louder as I get closer to Keira's room.
I stop for a moment, listening to make sure this is the correct room and as I suspected, it is the right room.
I open the door and see a flurry of movement before a tennis ball hits me square in the face, right between the eyes.
"Fuck!" I stumble back a couple steps, not that it hurt me that much, it frightened and surprised me more than anything.
My hands instinctively cover my forehead, blinking my eyes a couple time just to make sure my vision isn't blurry.
I stand up and relax back down, letting out a deep breath before walking into the room and eyeing Keira, only to find a ton of tennis balls laying on the floor and Christian in the corner of the room giggling his ass off.
I was pissed, like furious. Keira's room was a disaster, she hooked her shirts to the blades of her fan, which was running.
I started to wonder how she reached but then noticed the tall plastic box on top of her bed, which answered my question immediately.
Her dresser drawers were pulled out, half of her clothes on the fan, the other half strung around the entire room.
Not one part of her room was clean.
I couldn't even see the floor.
Nick has been sick all this week, he hasn't gone to work and he's been in bed with a high fever for around three days, he didn't need this bullshit to add onto his sickness and stress him out, so asking him for help from him was way out of the question, but Bryant or Chad could be good use right now.
Both of these kids were in on this and they know it.
"You two, go downstairs and find a corner right now," I order, my tone had no softness nor caringness to it right now.
I was pissed and I seriously need to go chill out for a couple of minutes, because if these two say a single damn disrespectful word to me, I might go off on one of them.
Them two are so in for it.
"Chad, come here, bro. We have a major issue to deal with," I call Chad over to the couch, ready to explain the entire thing to him, rubbing the red spot where the damn tennis ball hit me.
