Barely a moment after I stepped into the classroom, a tall, blonde, curley headed girl with blue lipstick walked up to me. Despite the fact that she wore a scowl on her face, she was actually quite beautiful.

"Hey!" she said, briskly  walking up to me. "New girl."

"Um, hey?" I nervously replied. I had never seen this girl in my life, but somehow she was mad at me. How and why, I don't know.

"You stay away from him. He's mine!"

   "Who are you-"

"I'm McKenzie Larson. Henry's my sort of almost boyfriend."

"McKenzie, I think you've got it wrong. I can't stay away from him, he's my Buddy for the day. I kind of have to stay with him." Yeah, and you can't tell me what to do. I just met you. I just met Henry. You just met me. What aren't you getting here?

A look of embarrassment cam over her face. "Oh, okay. But don't get it wrong. We are sort of kind of together." Sort of kind of together? What does that even mean?

"What did you say your name was?" She glanced at her nails.

"Uh, Lilly Schuyler." I wasn't about to correct her and say that she disn't ask in the first place.

"Well, Lilly Schuyler, remember what I said. And, by the way, even if you do go for him, you don't stand a chance. Especially against me." And with that she flounced back to her seat. Too bad. I had amreal zinger for her about her choice in lipstick.

How dare she tell me these things. She doesn't own me. I can be with whoever I want, and McKenzie Larson can't stand in my way.

But then I come back to reality. I could never be with Henry. I just met him, and he probably thinks that I'm a gigantic dork. Maybe McKenzie is right. I don't stand a chance. Not at all.
