My Consequence || An Ashton Irwin Fanfic

Chapter Two

Vanessa opens her locker and gets out the books she'll be needing for her first few classes. "Hey girl hey," Skylar says causing Vanessa to jump a little. "Oops sorry, didn't mean to scare you." Skylar apologizes. "It's okay," Vanessa says. "So what happened to you last night?" "Oh, I left after the little scene with Hayley." "I heard about that. Who took you home?" "Ashton." Skylar just smiles. Vanessa turns to look her. "What?" "Nothing." Vanessa rolls her eyes and closes her locker. "So did your mom find out?" Vanessa groans. "Yeah, I'm grounded for a week for sneaking out." "Man, that sucks. I wonder who blabbed." 

"Oh look if it isn't dumb and dumber," Hayley says to her friends as they approach them. "What do you want Hayley?" Skylar asks. "Nothing. Say, Veronica, did Justin ever buy you a diamond bracelet? No? Just me then?" Hayley asks showing Vanessa the bracelet. Vanessa and Skylar at each other and laugh. "What's so funny?" Hayley asks. "That's cubic zirconia, otherwise known as a fake diamond. And for the last time, my name is Vanessa, got it, Harley?" Vanessa says before walking to class with Sky. Hayley stands there for a few moments glaring at her, then heads to her class.

"Last night's party was amazing. My date couldn't keep his hands off me." Tammy says smiling. "Okay, who is this mystery guy you've been seeing?" Logan asks. Tammy smiles and shakes her head. "I'm not telling. My brother would freak if he knew who it was." "Wait, you're not seeing Michael, are you?" Carolina asks. "Possibly." "Okay, you know he is a man-whore, right?" Logan questions. "And he is the reason your brother and Alicia broke up," Carolina adds. "Alicia brought the break up upon herself. She is the number one slut in this school. And as for Michael, he just needs the right woman to tame him." Tammy says. Vanessa and Skylar walk into the room and take their seats next to their friends. 

"Hey V, Ash and I are going to see a movie tonight. Want to come?" Tammy asks. "That's a little random," Vanessa says getting out her notebook. "Not at all. Do you want to come or not?" "I-" "She would love to." Skylar cuts her off. Vanessa and Skylar begin to have one of their silence arguments causing the others to look at them weird. "Great. We'll pick you up at your house around seven." Tammy says. "Actually, she'll be at my house," Skylar says. "Weird, but okay. We'll pick you up from Sky's house at seven." Tammy says. 

"Alright class, everyone face forward we are about to begin." The teacher, Mrs. Lawson, says.

 The next few classes fly by pretty fast, and before they know it, it is time for lunch. "I can't believe you said yes. You know I'm grounded." Vanessa shouts quietly to Skylar. "What are you freaking out about? Just tell your mom you are coming to my house for a study session and that you might stay over. Problem solved." Skylar says grabbing her lunch tray. "No, the problem is not solved. My mom will never go for that." Vanessa says following Skylar. Skylar shrugs her shoulders and takes a seat next to her boyfriend, Avontae. "Then we need to come up with something more...creative." Vanessa groans and sets down her tray. "Hey Vanessa," Ashton says popping up next to her. "Holy crap," Vanessa says jumping a little. "Sorry if I scared you. Can we talk?" Ashton asks. Vanessa nods her head and sets her tray down.

Ashton leads Vanessa out of the cafeteria and to the open field that is behind the school building. "So what did you want to talk to me about?" She asks. "It's about tonight," Ashton says. "Oh.." Vanessa's face turns gloomy. "No. No no no. I'm not canceling it. It's just I would like for it to be just the two of us." "So like a date?" "Yeah." "Okay, I'd like that." "Great. I'll see you at seven." Ashton says giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving.  Vanessa turns bright red, and a goofy grin appears on her face. "I'm so excited for my first date with Ashton!" Vanessa shouts softly to herself.

"How did you convince your mom to let you out?" Skylar asks sitting on her bed. "I didn't. My mom and dad are having 'issues,' so my mom got drunk and passed out. I just walked out the front door." Vanessa says fixing her make-up. "Oh. Why are you getting all dressed up? Aren't you just going to a movie?" "Ashton texted me about two hours ago, telling me to dress classy. I guess the plans have changed." Skylar shrugs her should and grabs her phone. Vanessa shifts her eyes from the mirror to her friend. "You and Avontae have plans for tonight?" "Of course. We have the house to ourselves all weekend." "What about Tyriq? Where is he going to be?" 

"He doesn't care if I have Avontae over. Besides, I'm pretty sure he's going to be out partying all night with Piper, Luke, Tammy, and a couple of other people." Vanessa is about to reply when the doorbell rings. "Tyriq answer the door!" Skylar yells. "You get your lazy ass up and answer it yourself!" Tyriq yells back. Before Skylar gets the chance to shout back, Tyriq blasts 'Bodak Yellow' to tune her out. Skylar sighs and goes to answer the door. "Who is it?" Skylar asks. "It's Ashton." Skylar opens the door and ushers him inside. "Nessa, Ashton's here!" Skylar shouts. 

"Okay! I'll be down in five minutes!" Vanessa responds. "So Ashton," Skylar says turning her attention towards him, "Where are you taking my best friend for your first date?" "It's a surprise." Skylar nods her head and hums. "Okay, I'm ready," Vanessa says as she descends the stairs. Her long black hair is straight with half up if up in a ponytail while the other half cascades down her back. She is wearing very little make-up, to give off a natural look. The knee-length baby blue dress she wears shows off her curves. She pairs the outfit with a pair of white heels and diamond earrings. "Wow," is all Ashton can manage to say. "It's not too much is it," Vanessa asks as she walks closer to Ashton. "N-no! It's perfect." Ashton smiles and extends his hand. "M'lady, shall we go?" Vanessa blushes and takes his hand. "We shall." 

"You guys are weird. Have fun on your date," Skylar says watching them walk out the door. "Bye, I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" "Depends on how the night goes for the both of us." Skylar laughs and Vanessa rolls her eyes.
