"Guess who" big hands were placed upon my eyes, blocking me from any view. The voice could be discovered as Dylan, my boyfriend of one month.
He removed his hands, turning me around with a small smile on his face. "Dylan" I breathed out, letting out a chuckle. Our hands were laced together as we ventured pass a hallway filled with loud students.
"Happy birthday to my beautiful girlfriend of one month" he said enthusiastically, placing his lips upon mines.
"You remembered" I smiled lightly, giving his hands a tight squeeze. He looked at me in disbelief.
"Of course I remembered" he placed one hand on his chest in fake offense. I bumped my shoulders towards his playfully, him doing the same.
"So," Dylan shot me a curious look. I gave him a confused look, turning my head back to see if he was looking at me. "What are you going to do on your special day?" He asked.
"Whatever crazy thing that my mom has in mind" I shrugged, letting my eyes wander towards an unfamiliar poster that I hadn't seen around before. I knew the school like the back of my hands, I also knew that it was very rare for us to put posters on the wall, which either meant it was very important or it was another failed attempt from the teachers to help us with our behaviors during the few days that we have been in school.
"Hey Dylan" he hummed in response, turning his attention towards the direction of my gaze, "do you know what this is about?" I questioned, pointing towards the new fresh poster that would soon be nothing of.
"It's just some dumb stuff about a new dance class" Dylan shrugged, "I heard that the teacher would be a professional dancer from some college''
I didn't respond, instead walking away with Dylan as my eyes lingered on the poster for some time. I had token dance when I was six up until I was fourteen, and I remembered that I would always show my friends the steps that I had learned in dance. After some times, i had started to lose interest into the beautiful art, one of my many regrets.
The moment that we had made it towards my classroom door, I gave a quick kiss to Dylan and hurried towards my classroom.
Inside stood Lydia as her head flung towards the direction of the unexpected noise. She calmed down once she noticed that it was me, turning her attention towards the board anxiously as she waited for the bell to sound.
"Sorry" I mumbled, making my way towards my awaiting seat. She kept quiet though, her head still facing the board, unmoving. I decided to keep quiet as well, seeing that she wouldn't respond to any of my words.
"Happy birthday" it was very faint, but I could still hear the sound of her voice ever so slightly. I cracked a small smile on my lips, "thank you" I kept it formal, not wanting this moment to end.
This was what I had wished for on my birthday, for lydia to talk to me - not that I was desperate - but I missed having my best friend around.
Then, it was silent. Not an uncomfortable silence, but a peaceful and welcoming one. I took out my notebook, seeing as the bell was about to ring just a few minutes.
"We have three minutes until the bell rings" I helped out as the English teacher came into the classroom, nodding towards us in acknowledgment.
"Thanks" she forced out, turning around to give me a smile. And in that moment, It was already the best birthday ever.
The day had dragged on, continuously with the bell ringing and some teachers and students shouting out some happy birthday songs. I had finally made it towards the end of the day.It was not like I hated the gesture, but after a while, it would start to be a little bit too much. With the birthday songs, and some teachers pretending that they had cared about some stupid kid's, that doesn't even show them some respect, birthday.
With a huff, i finally made it towards Dylan's car. Once I made contact with it, my hands flew back towards my mouth, biting on to it to help with the blissful pain. I glared towards the car that had caused me the type of pain.
"Again?" A voice who I recognized as Dylan's, chuckled from behind me. I turned around with a glare, "it's not my fault that this car doesn't like me" I defended, blocking out Dylan's laughter in amusement.
I got in the car after Dylan's constant laughter, immediately opening the door back on as the heat had been too much to consume. "JESUS CHRIST!" I got out, placing my hands over my heart dramatically.
"Stop being a big baby, and close the door" Dylan reached over to close the door. I Immediately held my breath, feeling much hotter than I did outside. It also did not help that I had been wearing a tank top over my oversized black jacket.
"Are we there yet?"
"No"
Now?"
"No"
"Now?"
"Fine, yes" Dylan said, rolling his eyes in annoyance. I glared in his direction, sticking my tongue out as I got out the sauna, or wildly known as a car.
"Why you little-" I giggled as I ran towards my front porch, Dylan hot on my tail. I flanged the door open, stopping mid step as I saw the crowd of many unfamiliar faces.
"Surprise!!"
Oh please, help me now.

**************************I am sorry I haven't updated for awhile. I had some school tests and assignments that i had to do, which had me no time for updating my story. I know it's short but that's as much as I can give.
I have one day left of school, and I'm all free, so I'll be updating soon. This time, in the next chapter, you'll finally get the honor of meeting Benjamin Graham.
