They sat on the roof and gazed together at Kadara's skyline. There were blended colors of yellow, orange, and reds. They drank almost all the whiskey and talked for hours. It was the best time either of them had in a long time.

"Gorgeous isn't it? I sometimes forget." Reyes said to Carina. Carina nodded but couldn't help but to stare at his features and soak in the beauty of the man in front of her. She was in love with him, this dangerous secretive smuggler. He had swept her off her feet since they first met. He felt the same. With her, he felt safe and vulnerable. Like he could share anything with her and not be judged. Yet still, that secret at the back of his mind lingered and kept trying to claw its way out. Reyes was afraid that Carina would view him differently if she knew who he really was. He liked the way she looked at him, like he was a good man. He didn't want to ruin their relationship yet, but he knew it was going to happen sometime.

"I don't know much about you Reyes. My life story is pretty public; So, tell me about you." Carina said. Reyes hesitates because life as a smuggler was full of secrets and lies. No one knew anything really about his past other than he was a pilot. He knew he could trust Carina with anything though. So he thought for a second, and said, "Well, I was born on earth, and grew up there until my mother died.  My dad could not bear the pain of staying there so we moved to Elysium when I was around twelve. My dad pretty much raised me and my cousin alone. He was in the alliance before he retired due to injury. When I turned 18, I enlisted in the alliance, mainly to make my father proud, but I also loved to fly. Ships have always really amazed me, I like to feel the way they move in my control." Carina listened intently and asked him "How did you hear about the initiative?" Reyes said "Well, I was asked by Kesh actually. We met on Omega while I was on a mission and she was picking up supplies. I helped her out here and there and she asked me to come, said the initiative could use some good pilots. It wasn't that hard to leave. I miss my dad and my cousin James though." Carina nodded and took another drink of whiskey. She didn't want to push him for his whole life story right away, even though she wanted to know every single detail about this man. Carina asked "So Reyes, why did you come to Andromeda?" Reyes thought for a second and took a drink of the whiskey, "To be someone." Carina smiled and took his hand and said "You're someone to me." Reyes laughed and looked into her beautiful ocean blue eyes and kissed her sweetly. He felt strong feelings for her, and was so afraid to get too close. He didn't want to hurt her when the truth finally came out. But he also could not keep himself away from her. He was in love with her.
