Chapter 14 Jake

"Dude!" Chase is laughing so hard he is going to fall off the chair.

It's Wednesday morning and I just told Chase everything that has happened with Kelsey last night.

She was furious when I told her that Megan didn't even know we were dating. She started screaming and yelling like a 9 year old who just found out Santa isn't real.

I couldn't put up with her mood swings anymore so I broke up with her, and left her standing in the driveway of her house with a shocked expression on her face. When I told her she is psycho and should really see some one about her mental problems, she started screaming saying I was stupid for doing this and that no one is ever going to love me the way she did.

"The look on her face must have been priceless!" Chase finds this more amusing than he should.

"It was pretty funny," I tell him in a monotone.

"Well Megan is way hotter than that slutty bitch anyways," When Chase said that I got the urge to slam his head against the brick wall next to his face.

"I didn't break up with her for Megan." I snap at him letting my... my jealously? get the best of me.

"So because you guys are over does that mean I can sleep with her now?"

Chase is really pushing his buttons on this subject and doesn't seem to notice.

I give him a quick nod before I leave the table to go to first hour.

When I get there I sit in my desk and wait for Megan. I wonder what she did last night. I bet she has a wonderful family who all eat diner together and are really close the way her and Axle are. They are probably really close to their dad more so than their mom. I freeze as I realize what I just thought. I totally forgot Megan's dad has died. She probably misses him like crazy.

Megan walked in the with a worried expression on her face.

"Hey, Megan."

She didn't seem to hear me because the sits down and takes out a notebook. She starts to draw a cross with swirls around it and words that don't look Like English. It takes her about 20 minutes to finish and when it's done it looks like you could touch it an get a splinter from the wood.

She looks up and notices I'm looking at the paper. Her cheeks blush a deep red while she turns the page over and hides the notebook.

"That is amazing, I didn't know you could draw." I can feel my face in a shocked expression with my eyes wide and eyebrows raised.

"Oh yea." She laughs as she blushes more.

Her tone sounds off.

"Is everything ok?" I wonder out loud.

Her eyes immediately get glossy around the edges and she bites the inside of her cheeck.

"It's just Axle. She has new clothes today and I don't know where they came from. They are really nice and look good on her, but I think she stole them. I don't even know how she would do that being I was with her until she fell asleep last night unless she snuck out, but no stores would have been open that late." She explains to me.

"Well have you tried asking her about it?" I suggest.

"Yes and she tells me she bought them."

"And why do you not believe her?"

Megan seems to be getting really frustrated by my questions.

"Because I am with her all the time she has never been to a store in the past two months and she doesn't have money for those types of clothes."

"What if she is borrowing then from a friend. Ya know maybe to try an fit in."

She seems a little bit relieved at this explanation and her face relaxes a little.

"Yea, maybe you are right. I don't know why she wouldn't just tell me that though."
