Chance Mistakes *On Hold*

The Secrets are told

(1 month after the incident....)

Jakie's POV

"No...Please, no." I whined sadly as I checked the results of the pregnancy tests. All four said Positive. I dumped them all into a small bag and into the garbage. Ruby looked sad when I told her the news. I was sad and angry. Stupid Git. The least he could do was put the rotten log in a net.

"Ruby, would I be able to raise a baby?" I asked. I could practically we the gears turning in Ruby's mind before she spoke. "Why not? You've never done self harm and you've survived things most people don't. I say you're pretty qualified." she answered. A half smile worked its way onto my face.

"Oh, I remembered I scheduled an ultrasound in a werewolf hospital in town. I have to leave and I'll be back soon." I said, pretty much jumping out the door and into my car. As I began the hour drive I began to wonder. Would my baby have Beta traits? Or would she have all Alpha ones?

I parked and went in. I spoke briefly to the receptionist at the front desk and sat down in the waiting room. My hand moved to my small baby bump. There's a pup in there. Missy said lovingly. I began to rub my belly gently. I know. It's kinda amazing. I replied. I don't know how long I sat there, gazing at my stomach but I was called in to Dr. Ford's office.

"Hi, you must be Jay." she said as I came in. I nodded and gave a smile. "Okay, Jay, lay down please and lift up your shirt. The gel with be a little cold but we'll see a pup." she said kindly. I did what I was asked and winced at the coldness. Dr. Ford maneuvered the and over my stomach, trying to get a clear picture.

Then I saw it. My pup. She was bigger than a regular one. If she was born right now she would fit in both of my hands with room to spare. "Can you tell if it's male or female?" I asked. Dr. Ford waved the wand around a bit more. "Female. It's a girl." she said. I gave a little victory fist pump. "Well, Jay, nothing appears to be wrong so I'll see you back here in 4 weeks." Dr. Ford said. I thanked her and left. A happy feeling in my mind.

I started to drive again but decided to stop at bulk barn for candy. I was embarked on an epic hunt for Gummy worms when I bumped into him. "Oof! I'm sorry, sir." I said politely. I looked at him kindly. He was my height with dark hair and eyes, his skin a milky tone. "No problem. Say, do I know you from somewhere?" he asked. I couldn't place him so I shook my head no. "Sorry, I don't think so. Goodbye now." I said and continued on my candy hunt.

I finally found them and paid for them at the cash register. I got back in my car and drove back home. I wondered if they were looking for me? Nah, even if they are, they'll be checking around Michigan. Missy said. I agreed. I noticed a car following me in the rearview mirror and then I started with the maniac driving. I finally shook them off and pulled up into the driveway.

"And?" Ruby asked when I walked in. I handed Alexa her Gummy worms and turned back to Ruby with a smile. "It's a girl." I said happily. I looked at my baby bump with love. It had grown during the last few hours. "Have any name ideas?" Ruby asked. I nodded quickly. I held up one finger. "I have Zara, Caitlin, Kayla, Alma, and Kennedy." I said, holding one finger up for each name. If I didn't go with Alma as a first name, it would definitely be a middle one. "Oh, that's good. May I suggest Ruby?" she said jokingly. I laughed.

Colin's POV (Gah!)

I looked at Ella sleeping peacefully beside me. She bore my mating mark on her neck. I don't give a crap about the fact that she had a mate because she's mine now. I heard my phone go off, interrupting my thoughts.

"What?" I said angrily when I picked it up. There were some deep breaths on the other end. "I saw Jakie. Today." The person, who I recognized as Oliver, said. "And? This is important?" I asked. I heard more breathing. "She's pregnant man." Oliver said. I nearly jumped with glee. I knew it was mine since there was no way she would let another male touch her.

"Oh, I'm gonna be a dad!! I'm gonna be a dad!!" I sang happily. Oliver made a questioning noise. "Well, since I...." I proceeded to tell him the whole story. "You did what? What in blue blazes is wrong with you? Do you understand what you've done? I was gonna tell you were I saw Jakie, but I guess you don't need to know." he said furiously and I heard the sound of air whizzing near by and then the call ended. Oliver had smashed his phone.

I was beyond happy. I would have a son. And, because I knew Jakie had Alpha blood, I would rise to power. It's a win for everyone. If only I knew where she was. I was deep in thought as the door to my room slammed open. It was Joseph, Ella's mate. She woke up and tried to jump out of my bed but I held her back. "Back off, Mister. She's mine." I said threateningly.

Joseph laughed and picked Ella up from my grasp. He quickly replaced my mark with his. I felt the bond to Ella snap. "Alright, Beta with the brains of a turnip, you can't go around sleeping with other people's mates and stealing them. Go bond with a whore or something." he said angrily as he stalked out, taking a naked Ella with him.

Goddess. I just can't seem to catch a break. My life is terrible.
