"Love is never planned. It just happens."
----------------
Her eyes were shut tight. It was as if she was willing all the nightmares in her life to go away and live her in peace. Her temple was touching his and his hands were still tenderly holding her face. Sanyukta felt strong in his embrace. Funny how a mere touch of the person u love could make u forget all ur worries.
She felt his hands leave her face and felt him move away. She opened her eyes and suddenly felt very aware of what they had just done. She could feel her ears going warm and her cheeks burning. She didn't dare look at his face and instead kept her gaze on her feet. Somewhere within her, she felt alone as soon as he moved away.
"I will be back soon", he said, breaking the awkward silence and walked upto the cabin where her dad had now been kept.
"Where are u going?" The words came out of her mouth before she could stop herself. And as she said that, she looked up at his face for the first time in what seemed like ages. His expression was one that reflected calm yet was passive.
"I'm assuming u paid 20000 for ur dad's shifting and initial treatment?" he said seriously.
"Yes" she replied, wondering what he was talking about.
"By the looks of it, the doctors have performed quite a major surgery on him and I don't think they are done yet..." he continued.
Sanyukta suddenly remembered what the doctor had told her when she went to see him after the operation.
"The doctor said that there were multiple clots in his brain and that some were in such delicate places that trying to operate might rapture them causing instant d-death..." she told him.
"Aneurysm.." he replied, smirking ever-so-slightly.
She frowned, "Hmm...what?"
"You are a med student Sanyukta...say aneurysm...'multiple clots in the brain' is layman's language..."
"But that's what the doctor told me...Are u saying tha-.."
"He told u that because he doesn't know that u study here.." he interrupted her.
"Whatever.." she said and pulled a face at him, "So I still didn't get where u are going..."
"So as I was saying...Now the entire treatment will be done here in FMC and it will cost you atleast 4-5 lakhs..."
Sanyukta's eyes widened. That part had completely skipped her mind. What about the treatment money??? In her hurry to shift her dad to Delhi, Sanyukta forgot that the 20000 she paid was just for the flight-fare and initial treatment. What about the rest?
The look of horror on her face told Randhir that she had forgotten that FMC didn't treat people free of cost.
"Don't worry about the cost. The foundation will pay for it.." he said coolly.
Sanyukta was stumped for a moment before she mumbled, "You'll really do that? For me?"
Randhir opened his mouth as if to utter something and then shut it close.
"Let me go find Dr. Malhotra. There are some formalities that have to be done..."
And he walked away. Sanyukta was rendered speechless. She smiled softly and rushed to tell her mom about it.
"Arey beta, kahan thi tu?" asked Mrs. Agarwal.
"Ma pta hain pata ka treatment bilkul free mein hone wala hain..."
