"Where do we go when we walk a lie?
Who do we call at the end of night?
Carry me close like the teardrops in your eyes...
All i can give you is memories...
Carry them with you and I'll never leave...
I'll lay my head down, when I lay my head down...
Don't let me go...
Hold me in your beating heart!
I won't let go...
Forever is not enough...
Let me lay my head down,
On the shadow by your side...
Don't let me go!"

She had no idea that a bullet wound in the chest could draw out so much blood. She had no idea that a bullet wound killed a person in seconds. She tried moving from where she now stood like a petrified person, but her legs refused to do her bidding. She was numb. She was scared beyond her dreams. She felt weak. She felt like she could scream and scream and scream and never stop. Because what she just witnessed was not real. It couldn't be real. Ishita Mittal couldn't have died. And Sanyukta Agarwal couldn't have witnessed it. This had to be a nightmare and she had to snap out of it.
"Check her pulse sanyukta. Check her pulse" these words were the only rational thing that her mind could form. With the greatest effort she finally took a step towards Ishita's blood-soaked limp form.
Her hands shook severely as she picked up Ishita's wrist to check her pulse. She checked again...and again...and again...and each time her hope diminished further and further and her heart ached more and more.
"S-she's g-gon-e..."
Sanyukta had to speak those two words aloud to make herself believe them. And that sudden realization was too much for her to handle. She slumped onto the ground, buried her face in her palms and wailed miserably. She wailed like there was no tomorrow. She wailed like she lost her own sister. She wailed because a murder is never easy to witness. She wailed because she failed to do anything...because it could easily have been her instead of Ishita...Sanyukta Agarwal wailed because she realized Ishita Mittal was doing the same thing that she had been trying to do all along - protect the one they loved...Randhir.

Kaustuki and Jiggy were just returning to their dorms when they collided with Randhir on the way.
"Randhir bhai...kya hua? You look tensed..." said Jiggy.
"Kaustuki, have u seen Sanyukta?" asked Randhir.
Kaustuki shook her head and replied, "No i haven't...why?"
But Randhir didn't reply and left in a hurry. He had been searching for Sanyukta since the past hour and had failed to locate her. She had seen him and Ishita talking and he wanted to make sure she hadn't flipped out. He called her several times, but it reached straight to voicemail.
"Strange...what did Randhir bhai want?" asked Jiggy to Kaustuki.
"You know what Jiggy...Now that Randhir mentioned it, I haven't seen Sanyukta since the classes ended...Where is she?"
Both of them were a bit worried.
"Try calling her.." suggested Jiggy.
Kaustuki called Sanyukta immediately, but the call was out of reach.
