~Ren's P.O.V~
Sunlight glares down on me, lighting my face to let the heavens see it. I hold my mask in my hand, it's pastel purple and dark blue colours standing out against my grey scale attire. The towns people aren't too fond of me. Despite my human genes and appearance, those fancy rich people only see the half of me that's a demon. So every month I come to Heavens Peak on the edge of the capitals borders, to repent my existence.
"Hello again," I speak to the air. I've never been sure who I'm talking to, but I'm sure they are the opposite of demons.
"It's me again. I hope you don't get tired of me coming to speak to you. Today hasn't been a great day. First, I'll be petty and tell you about me, some rich girls asked me if my grandfather was Satan. I wanted to laugh, but honestly I don't know the answer to that. "
"Now I have a request. Today 10 people disappeared, we recently found 7 of them to be dead. I ask of you, please protect the people of this island, and save those who are still missing. I leave their fate and mine in your capable hands".
With a deep bow, I take my leave. I find my hand travelling to the key around my neck and coiling around it. My father is locked under the surface of the capital, and it's mine and my mothers duty to keep him and the other 5 main demons confined there.
"Mistress Ren!!" That weak and fragile voice calls out to me and I face it with a smile. My family's little messenger, Kiki. She is such a delicate young girl, with flowing golden hair. She has glazed grey eyes, which are a result of getting caught up in a fight. During a practice match between me and a lower level demon, she lost her eyesight when she entered the room before the session was over. I feel guilty for it everyday, it only adds to my fear of my demon side. If a low level demon could do that, what could I do if I lost control?
"Miss Ren!"
"I've told you Kiki you can just call me Ren. We're like sisters."
"Ah, okay Ren!! Uh- Right, the Prince has requested to speak with you!". She takes my hand with excitement.
"Prince Yoichi, huh? Lead the way."

I clutch the key around my neck.
