-Yoichi's P.O.V-

I felt terrible for sending that blind girl to fetch the prison keepers daughter by herself, but she did seem up to the task. With the situation at hand, the only option father has is to have us meet. The fate of this Island depends on it. However, I'm not sure whether all the participants will be on board as the task is rather... gruesome.

As I pace through the barren, gold lines halls of my 'home', I hear the faint sound of crashing in the distance.

"It seems our guest has arrived". Without a second thought, I run in the direction of the noise. Just as I reach a corner I stop and lean up against the wall. With caution, I peer around the corner to find a serving lady crying on the ground amongst a sea of smashed plates. Within seconds, a girl in grey-scale clothing and ombre hair comes running up to her. She drops to her knees harshly and begins to bring the lady to her feet.

Although she gives the serving lady her brightest smile and kind words of "It's okay" and "I'll take care of this for you", the moment the servant spots the key placed gently around her neck, she backs away.

"Please, do whatever you want, clean the plates if you have to just... please... Don't hurt me...". The girl's smile broke into an expression of hurt. The Lady raised the bottom of her dress and ran around the corner opposite me in fear.

With a wave of her hand, the saddened girl summoned strands of shadows from the walls and her own shadow to begin sweeping the smashed plates while she herself picked up the few that remained intact.

As quietly as I could, I stroll over to the girl and crouch to her level. I pick up a few plates before lifting her chin so she looks me in the eye.

"It's always you who ends up alone, isn't it, Ren?"

"Ah... Prince Yoichi."

"I think we're good enough friends to drop the 'Prince' don't you?"

"Ugh... Fine, Yoichi."

Her shadows finish their job and return to their original forms as we both get to our feet.

"So, why did you call me here?"

With a smirk, I pinch her sleeve and drag her into the nearest lounge. We both take seats on the plush sofas and I explain to her fully what is happening.

"Have you noticed how things have been a bit... off lately?"

Ren ponders for a moment before nodding. "You mean how each village is changing?"

"Yes. In Haru Village, less newborn animals are surviving past a month. In Yeoleum Village, the tide has been far out and isn't coming in at night. In Aki Village, the winds suddenly get violent and then settle. In Gyeoul Village, the snow has been falling for longer than usual-"

"In the capital, the people are unhappy and losing money. Finally, in the prison below the capital, the demons' auras are reaching further than they have before."

"That's correct. All of this has been happening due to a surge of negative emotions, specifically murderous emotions, that have thrown each area's relic out of balance."

The relics are what keep the everlasting seasons on this island, and what keep the citizens here safe from the harm of the demons we have locked under our feet. Unfortunately, due to the actions of certain people on the island, the relics have been 'tainted' and are beginning to not function properly.

Ren looks at me with a confused expression. "So, if it's negative emotions, then who are they coming from?"

"in each area, there is supposedly a team of 2-3 people who wish to overthrow the leaders of the village. Or in the case of either me or you, overthrow the king, and the prison keeper. Their plan to do that is to murder them."

Ren falls silent, I can sense the anger in her eyes as they turn from a light grey to a deep red. As the leaders of every village and our parents had once had relationships with demons, to a select few on the island, they are demons themselfves and must either be locked underground or murdered. Each of us have known this for a long time, however, no one has taken action until now.

"So how do we stop it?", she questions through gritted teeth.

"We have been tasked with assembling the half demon heirs to each village, and working together to eradicate the threat, through any means we see fit."

"Then why are we sat in her having a little tea party? Let's go."
