Music is dedicated to my mom. Thanks for reading, Mom.

Take a listen. I think it fits.

You have never been in love

Until you have seen the stars reflect in the reservoirs

And you have never been in love,

Until you have seen the dawn rise,

Behind the home for the blind

RECAP

As Draven's eyes snapped open, one word surfaced. The only word that could mean anything, even in death. "Autumn!" he called out. As his back flattened once more, he closed his eyes and uttered her name one last time.

CHAPTER THREE

Draven woke up disoriented. The first thing that registered was that he did not recognize the room he was in. The walls were off white, and the room resembled that of a hospital. Medical equipment was placed neatly on shelves. Looking down, he saw that he was in clothes that did not belong to him. He had been cleaned up. The next thing that registered was the overwhelming feeling of anxiety he was experiencing. It had been years since he last felt anything similar.

Getting up from the vinyl cot he was laying on, he walked to the door, trying to open it.

"Draven, I am glad to see you awake. You have been asleep for some time now," Isaac told him.

"For how long?" Draven asked, moving a step away from his old alchemist friend. "And how did I get here?"

"It has been two days. As I tried to tell you before, your crystal was rejecting your molecules. The girl was causing a change in you, and it would not allow you to adjust. If I understand what happened, I believe you attempted removing your crystal on your own. I imagine it had something to do with the female. We found you injured and dying."

"We?" Draven asked.

"Emily and myself."

Once the shock from Isaac's words settled, Draven was overcome with a heavy emotion. He could not determine what he was feeling, but it was pulsing within his veins. The numbness he contained for so long-was gone. Confused, he shook his head as if to wake himself.
