BOOK II CHAPTER EIGHT

I tried to walk together

But the night was growing dark

Thought you were beside me

But I reached and you were gone

Sometimes I hear you calling From some lost and distant shore

I hear you crying softly for the way it was before

Where are you now

Are you lost

Will I find you again

Are you alone Are you afraid

Are you searching for me Why did you go

 I had to stay

 Now I'm reaching for you

Will you wait, will you wait
Will I see you again

"Isaac, I'm not allowing you two to go alone. I won't stay here. I'm not going to argue with you, you can't make me stay, so if there is anything else I need to know before walking into this situation, I suggest you tell me now," Emily said. She was sitting across from Isaac on a small, red velvet chair.

Isaac was silent for some time, contemplating what to tell his wife. He could not find the right words. The secret he was holding would destroy her. It would destroy them both. "Emily, you cannot go. You don't understand...You don't know."

"Stop right there. What don't I know? You must tell me, Isaac. You should have never hidden anything from me in the first place. We are supposed to be partners. To take care of each other. You can't shut me out every time you think something might hurt me."

Isaac's elbows were resting on his knees, and he bowed his head, groaning to himself. When he looked up, Emily could see that he was crying. This was something she never saw him do, and with that, she knew that whatever it was, whatever he had been hiding, was not a small thing. She felt her heart rate elevate, and she wiped her palms on her thighs. "What? What is it, Isaac? You are scaring me," she told him, getting up and moving to sit next to him on the love seat.
