• Chapter 7 •

"Okay does everyone know the plan?" Sirius whispered unnecessarily as we were still in my flat.

"Yes but why are you whispering?" I whispered back.

"For effect, Dorcas, you're doing it too! Keep up!" He snapped back, "Any other questions?"

"Can you go through it one last time?" Remus asked, drumming his fingers up and down the wall nervously, "I'm sorry to ask again but I'm rather crucial to the plan so I don't want to mess up."

"Okay, so Lily has found her on find my friends, she's currently at some coffee shop. So Remus your job is to make sort... of guest appearances whilst we keep look out." Sirius explained. It was less complicated but a lot creepier than the Lone Wolf Scam, "This should get Dorcas into her head and hopefully will lead to phase two..."

"What is phase two?" Lily asked but Sirius simply tapped his nose exchanging a smirk with James.

"I still don't know why I couldn't do it. I mean I am me so the worst that would happen is she'd spot me, not a big deal." I huffed but Sirius shook his head.

"Dorcas, Dorcas, Dorcas - "

"Once was enough."

"One more please? It's just four is very dramatic number," He asked sheepishly.

"Fine..." I conceded.

"Dorcas. Happy? Anyway, if it was you, you are the problem - "

"Damn, Sirius, that's really nice." I cut in sarcastically, "You should put that on a motivational poster."

Lily and James sniggered slightly but managed to muffle it as Sirius shot them a look.

"Shut up, Dorcas." He huffed before resuming his story, "Anyway, the reason it can't be you is because if Remus gets caught, he can simply take the wig off and she wouldn't question why he was there. If she caught you, she'd think you were stalking her probably but with Remus not only will she feel awkward that she mistook him for you, but she'll wonder, 'hmmm, why did I think of Dorcas? Maybe she's in my head? Maybe I should date her.' See? Flawless logic."

"Sirius, that's not how girls think." Lily smirked, "Believe me when I say it's a LOT more complicated than that... trust me." Sirius waved his hand dismissively and me and Lily exchanged an amused look, "I can safely say that she nor any other girl... scratch that, person has ever said that."

"Well, what would she say then?" Sirius challenged but Lily was more than up for it.

"Okay, so first she'd probably call me or someone to ask if I knew why Remus was wearing a wig - "

"You don't know that she'll catch me." Remus pointed out.

"Remes, she will. It's Marlene. It's going to be bloody hilarious but that's not the point." Lily said, "After she's called me and I've told her that Remus was probably just being a lovable dork, she'll shrug it off and carry on with her life."

"Not if it happens enough times." Sirius said wickedly which brought a distinct sense of unease to me.

"You know what, maybe this isn't such a good idea... I don't want to emotionally and mentally manipulate her. It's cruel." I said hesitantly which made Sirius's eyes widen.

"But we already have Remus in drag..." Sirius said pleadingly, "If she starts to get scared, I'll stop. Okay?"

"... Fine, I guess." I replied. Although I was pretty sure the plan was going to fail, it would be kind of nice if it worked as well as the Lone Wolf Scam. The lone wolf scam was definetly worse than this and if Remus could forgive that, then Marlene would hopefully forgive me for my involvement in this.
