Chapter 9

Those little things that make life bearable to deal with are my favorites. Either sitting home, having a lazy day in with all the horror and action movies you can find, or getting the first taste of the delicious macaroni your dad makes when you're really hungry, or even seeing the outcome of a prank well done.

I could be poetic and shit and say that I am now doing one of these things, but then I'd be lying. Because right now, I think that a volcano just exploded inside me.

This is why I don't like people. This is why I only hang out with the people I can see myself with. Well, not really, I don't think I hang out with Zayn Malik even though we would make the power couple of the decade.

But then again, I usually hang out with people I think are the best for me. The people that like my pranks and wouldn't mind helping me with making one.

And then, when it looks like everything is falling into place and everyone is good, Karma comes back and bites me in my ass.

Karma's a bitch.

Wait a second. But this isn't Karma we're talking about, are we? Nope, we are talking about the person that is giggling away with her minions as they see my reaction.

They want a reaction? Well I'll give'em a reaction that will haunt them for the rest of their pathetic little lives.

After getting my eyes off of my precious little car, I am greeted with the whole school staring at me, waiting for me to tick off like a bomb. In my moment of fatal fury, I sneered at all of them. Some flinch from the intensity of anger in my eyes, and quickly avert them and continue doing their business. But, what irritates me the most, is that some of them are still watching me like hawks and while flinching at my sneer, they're still curious what I am going to do.

Oh, so now they want something interesting? I'll give them something -

"Put me down!" I roared once again, my vocals hurting me from shouting so loud. I feel the person that picked me up flinch a little and hestitate, but then continue caveman-handling me towards the school's entrance. I screamed and kicked but the person just grunted and by the squeky voice and the too tight purple pants, I guess this must be Alex. Whether is Alex or not, I don't really care. I keep on screaming 'put me down's but do you know what he did?

Of course you don't, you can't really know what will happen next, now can you?

He patted my butt.

He patted my butt.

Then I realized. Since I was wearing Anna's dress, I must be flashing everyone my underwear.

Great. Show everyone your duck panties, Alana. That is a fabulous idea.

I continued my screaming fit, throwing punches here and there and a different places of his back. He sighed and hissed every time I hit him. Reminding myself of gravity, I realized that my sunglasses had fallen off my head and were now lonely on the floor, in the center of the circle that the teenage crowd has formed. It was like a satanic cult, all the teenagers either scared, amused or cackling not-so-silently at the miserable state of my car. Half of the boys are very good at pretending that they aren't going behind Alex just to see my panties.

Perverted hormonal boys.

I sighed in annoyance and finally calmed down to the point of not trying to kill Alex. I imagined him smirking at my obvious surrender. After three minutes and thirty-nine seconds, Alex put me down in front of a furious and amazed Kathie.

Uh oh.

By the experience our spent years together had given me, Kathie feeling multiple emotions at one time wasn't good. The familiar, cursing-worse-than-a-sailor-on-acid would be replaced and the slightly squealing, slightly bipolar person would step in. You don't want to be in Kathie's company at that moment.

"Alana, I swear to god, that bitch will pay with her life and -" Kathie stopped fuming when she saw my outfit. I saw her anger fade a lot and was instantly replaced by awe and slight annoyance.

"Alana," she spoke timidly and shocked. "What are you wearing?"

I averted my eyes quickly and nervously from her and started staring at the wall as if it's the most interesting thing in the world. Who knew that a wall had such importance to this world? Wait, what is the meaning of a wall? Why does it exist? How it is like to be a wall? I think the feeling is non-existent, because, you know, walls aren't alive and as posh as I would sound, they don't have a soul. Maybe-

I stopped thinking about the possibilities of wall-life existence when Kathie flicked me on the shoulder, annoyed that I wasn't responding to her. Clearing my throat, I mumbled something incoherent.

"What?" Kathie's face showed that she was confused as hell and asked me to repeat what I had mumbled.

"I said," I repeated in a louder but with a still wavier voice. "I wanted a change."

Kathie widened her eyes and a look of pure approval and delight was directed to me. "Finally, you're embracing the girlier and prettier side of you! Look at you! You're so sexy! If I were gay, I would tap you right now! Why didn't you call me? We are doing a night in! Alex-" she looked at the surprised Alex that looked as a deer in light. "-you will make us company too! You'll show Alana how to do her make-up right and everything and I'll bring some-"

"Ladies," Kathie's rant was interrupted by Fin who slung his arm around my shoulders. He smirked slightly and looked at the shocked faces. I looked at his handsome face and smirked widely, remembering my anti-pick up line. God, I would do anything to see that face again.

"I think that Alana needs to get to her class. She'll catch up with you later." With that, we walked away from them, me still fuming a little for my car, grateful for Fin that he saved me from Kathie's attack. Still, I don't like it when people speak for me, so I was sporting an even bigger sneer. As for Fin, he was still wearing that stupid, very handsome and sexy, smirk on his face.
