Chapter 6

I blink once.

I blink again.

"And why do you think I would do that for you?" I asked surprised, what the fuck is happening. Cole, Alex and Kathie seemed to be lost in words.

"Well, you don't back on dares, now do you?" He asked rhetorically, a sly smile on his lips. Oh wow, he really is attractive.

Not now Alana, don't let your hormones loose!

I took a deep breath, and slowly let it go.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but painting a fucking car is not a dare, nor a challenge. And plus, why do you need for me to paint your car?" I asked, suspiciously squirting my eyes, as if I could see the lie better with a sharper angle. The so-called friends behind me are still acting as monks, even Kathie who is one of the most confident people I've ever met.

"You do love cars, right? Plus, you literally painted our principal's car without him even asking you. So here I am, like a true gentleman and a kind person, asking you to just help me paint my car green. I am starting to care about my environment, and I think my eco-friendly green car would portray that perfectly. " He smiled like a kid on Christmas, clasping his hands together.

I crossed my arms, looking at him as if he lost his mind. I seear to God, he really has lost his mind. Painting his car? He can pay anyone or ask anyone else to do it. Seriously, why me. I feel kind of special, but also really confused. Who wouldn't be in my place. He literally just asked me to paint his car green. What the actual fuck.

Wait, let me wrap this up. Again, are you seriously asking me to paint your car? We haven't even met properly, nor have we talked before." I am currently sporting a very annoyed look, checking him out a little bit. He was wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt. His hair, his clothes, hell even his walk screamed rich.

"And plus, with your money, you can pay any professional to do the same thing."

"Well, we did talk once. Freshman year, you asked me where was Biology, and I pointed you to the right direction. I think." He was now even confusing himself, looking everywhere else except for me.

"Also I kind of need for you to be my girlfriend for a while."

"Okay sure," I sighed. "You bring the paint and we'll- wait, did you say you need for me to be your girlfriend?" I gaped at him. Is he for real?

"Well, fake girlfriend, if that's any consolation." He shrugged at me, as if this is the most appropriate thing to say. I blink once to comprehend what he just asked me. He wants me to be his fake girlfriend, out of the blue? I am pretty sure he got the address wrong, this is a high school, not a looney bin.

I could hear Alex behind me having a huge coughing fit. Kathie was probably the one whispering 'what the fuck' all the time. Same, Kathie. Same.

"I would pay you if you like." Fin offered, looking expectantly at me for an answer, hoping for a positive one. I have no idea what is going on in his mind, but it sure isn't anything similar to sane.

"Okay, Fin," I said gently. "I know this is difficult for you," I place my hand on his shoulder and he looked completely confused. "But you really do need help. I know a great psychiatrist, he was the one that taught me to oppress my anger and to overcome the rage and fright of bumblebees. He's a really good friend of my parents' too, so I'll probably get you a discount too, not that you need it-"

"I'm not crazy!" He whisper-shouted. I looked at him with disbelief. "Okay, I know it is sudden, but I really need you to fake being my girlfriend. Otherwise my parents will disown me."
