She lied all the time. She lied to her uncle about sleeping every night. She lied to the boys that chased after her when asked if she had a boyfriend. She lied to the teachers when interrogated about recent misadventures. She lied to the whole world just by the smile she wore everyday.
She was uncertain if she would just keep lying to him too. She hadn't made that decision yet, so she averted her eyes from him. She couldn't let him glimpse herself just yet through her honest eyes.
Because for a girl who lied in every second of her life, honest eyes were considered a weakness. A chink in the armor, as one might say. Because she was a walking fib. Generating lies, lies, and more lies. She feared the day when someone would see beyond her web of lies, for in her mind, that day would be the day she'd lose everything.
The day she would be found out by people, would be the day she would lose herself.
