I haven't updated this story in awhile kms

So the inspiration for this chapter pretty much revolves around the fact that Barry actually runs a clothing company. I didn't know that.

There was literally no other inspiration for this chapter besides that 😂

Thank you guys for making this my most popular story ❤ I love you all so much ❤

Enjoy!

--------------------

I've always been pretty shy. It's kinda destroyed my life in a way. It's been pretty difficult to find a job because I always bomb the interviews

I listen to a lot of music to help calm my anxiety, but mostly Three Days Grace. I can't quite explain it. I just really like their sound.

So when I was broke and unemployed and found out that the band's lead guitarist was running his own company, I genuinely wanted to get a job there.

There wasn't even an interview, really. This girl pretty much took one look at me and said "you're hired, honey." Um, okay.

I'd been working at that company for a year, and honestly, I was ready to quit. Working for a member of my favorite band wasn't as awesome as I hoped it would be.

I mean, I mostly did work on the computer and didn't have to talk face to face with people all that often, but Mr. Stock treated me like shit and I got paid horribly. When the entire company got together in a meeting to discuss things, Mr. Stock patronized me and criticized every little thing I did. He treated me like I was disposable, like I didn't even matter. He forgot my name on purpose. He humiliated me in front of my colleagues. It got to the point where I finally put in my two weeks notice.

It's not like anyone would really care anyway.

Especially not Mr. Stock.

--------------------

A day after I put in my two weeks notice, we had another meeting. Great. The company met at a local hotel, one that was not that far from my house.

As I headed for the elevator, I heard my best friend, Iris, call out for me.

"Y/N, wait! Wait for me!" she hollered. I chuckled and held the elevator doors open as she trotted inside.

"I never knew you were putting in your two weeks notice," she frowned. "I'm really gonna miss you, you know." I pressed the button for the ground floor and closed my eyes as the elevator slowly descended.

"I'm just not happy, Iris. I'm done being disrespected. I wanna go somewhere where I'm gonna be treated like another person and not some.... Well... I don't know." Iris nodded.

"Mr. Stock can be pretty rude at times," she agreed. "but I never realized he hurt your feelings that much."

"Yeah," I sighed. Iris laced her fingers in mine and gave my hand a comforting squeeze.

"You should've told me sooner. We could've reported his sorry ass," she said. I shrugged.

"Probably wouldn't have done much of anything," I murmured. Iris slipped her hand out of mine and patted my shoulder.

"You'll be alright," she smiled. The elevator made a sudden stop at the fourth floor. Lo and behold, Mr. Stock was standing in front of the doors. I tensed up and Iris mashed her lips together.

Mr. Stock got on board the elevator and I pulled the sleeves of my sweater down over my hands.

"Hello, sir. How's your day been?" I asked, my anxiety getting the better of me. I shouldn't have said anything at all, I scolded myself.
