"So we start school in two more days", Anne says.

Dani groans, "Don't remind me. There's a lot I'm going back to."

"Tell me about it", I mutter.

"Dylan is coming back isn't he?", Dani questions.

"Yup, but he's a junior, it's not like we'll see each other much."

"You could", Anne points out. "In English or Math, maybe even your Science class."

"Yeah, thanks for that Anne", I fall back on my bed.

"Well it's true", she defends.

"But unlikely", adds Dani.

I sit back up and look at Dani, "You think?"

"Sure", she shrugs.

I narrow my eyes, "You're just trying to make me feel better."

"Is it not working? We should try distraction", says Anne. "Oh! The fair is coming in a few weeks."

"Oh yeah! We should go", nods Dani.

"I love the fair", I smile. "Last year we went and-"

"You totally ignored us and clung to Dylan", Anne laughs out.

"I did not!", I cross my arms. "That's not how I remember it."

"That's how it went though", Dani says laughing with Anne.

"Oh shut up. We weren't together that long, I was blinded by love", I laugh.

"It's okay, we got a lot of super cute pictures of you guys that day", Anne says.

"You did?", I ask. "I don't think I noticed that."

"You didn't, trust us", Dani shakes her head.

"Alright, let's move on", I turn to Anne. "How's Bryan?" I wiggle my eyebrows at her.

"Oh that", She looks down at her hands. "I stopped that whole thing. It wasn't going to work out."

"What?", Dani and I shout.

"Yeah, he's too different from me. I didn't feel right about him after the dates we went on", she just shrugs.

"Why?" I get off my bed and sit on the rug with the girls.

"We didn't have much to say. I'd say something about reading or volleyball and he'd brush it off. He said he didn't like to read, and he said volleyball wasn't his sport but he likes our uniforms." We roll our eyes.

"So what you're saying is that he was really only physically attracted to you?", Dani asks.

"I think so. I mean he wasn't creep, he was nice. I just don't think he's the kind of guy for me."

"I'm sorry Annie", Dani puts an arm over Anne's shoulders.

"It's okay. I was excited for the boyfriend thing, but at least I have you guys", Anne smiles.

"Yeah you do", I hug Dani and Anne.

"Lil", I hear Max call out.

"In my room", I yell back.

Max appears in my doorway, "Hey."

"What's up?", I put my book down.

"We're skipping the workout today", he sits on the edge of my bed.

"Really?", I smile. Finally, a rest day.
