Saying goodbye

"We'll give you two a minute" everyone left so it was just me and Shawn.

I was speechless.

My boyfriend and best friend was leaving to go on tour. I'm so proud of everything he has achieved but I want him to stay. He'll be gone for 5 months and I don't even know if our relationship will last that long. Everyone says long distance relationships never work but he promised we'll find a way.

We both stood there looking at each other and tears began forming in my eyes.

I felt like I couldn't breathe.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and Shawn wrapped his arms around me.

"What am I going to do without you?" I said crying into his shoulder.

He wiped my tears away with his thumb "You'll be fine, you're stronger than you think"

We released our arms and just looked at each other.

"I don't know what to say" I said trying to wipe my tears.

He laughed "Me neither"

We hugged one last time. He turned his head and whispered "I love you".

I took a deep breath to stop myself from sobbing "I love you too"

Karen, Manny and Aaliyah return and say their final goodbyes before Shawn boards his plane.

I couldn't help but kick myself. I wanted to kiss him but we ran out of time.

He picks up his bags and starts walking to the terminal.

After only a few steps he stops and puts the bags back down.

He quickly walked up to me and smacked his lips against mine placing his hands on my cheeks. It was so passionate.

Our lips broke "I'll FaceTime you the minute I get there" he stroked my hair slightly and then got on the plane.

I nodded and Karen wrapped her arm around me as we watched him leave.

On the drive home I was silent. He's only been gone half an hour and I miss him so much.

When I got home Mom comforted me with a hug and a hot chocolate but after I went straight upstairs to cry even more.

I opened my bedroom door and kicked off my shoes.

Before I got into bed I saw a something folded at the end of it.

I picked it up and read the note that was placed on top of it.

"I thought you might want this, its  your favourite xxx"

It was one of his hoodies.

I put it on and it smelt like him.

I pulled the duvet off my bed and got in.

Now I just had to wait.

My eyes were getting heavier and soon I was drifting off to sleep.

I woke to the sound of my phone ringing. I picked it up and immediately smiled when I saw who it was
