Chapter 8(Leafpaw)

Leafpaw followed her mentor to the smooth stone next to the great oak. Dewnose leapt onto the stone with the other three medicine cats and Leafpaw stepped up as well and smelt a new scent one of a young tom. "Hello" she heard the young tom mew he smelled like RiverClan so she guessed he was Lilyheart's apprentice. "My name is Icepaw I am Lilyheart's new apprentice after Ravenwhisker died" he mewed. Can he shut up! Leafpaw thought impatiently. She heard Lilyheart's soft mew in Icepaw's ear "The leaders are speaking now pay attention" she mews to Icepaw. Leafpaw felt his presence grow closer "My mother and father died with Ravenwhisker at the paws of WindClan when I was a few sunrises old" he mewed. Leafpaw felt a pang of sympathy for Icepaw at least her mother and father at least were alive. "Do I have any mud on my pelt?" He asked Leafpaw. She grumbled a bit "I don't know!" She hissed annoyed. "Why not it's really easy to see on a white pelt like mine" he mewed. "I'm Blind okay!?" She hissed putting her head toward where the leaders were speaking. "Oh" he mewed stepping away. "Being blind isn't contagious you know!" She grumbled flicking her tail. "It isn't? Silverwhisker my foster mother said it was" he mewed looking surprised. "If it was my littermates would be blind as well" she hissed getting annoyed. "And don't even think about having your littermates spy on ThunderClan." She mewed turning her attention to the leaders. She heard Icepaw grumble a bit as the leaders spoke.

Leafpaw walked through the forest feeling the soft blades of grass under paw. Before she knew what was happening she fell into a hole. out of the corner of her eye she saw a cat. She faced the cat who looked down at her delighted with interest. "Hello, " the cat mewed "Welcome to the tunnels" he sounded a bit cheerful to her. She turned around "How can I See you!?" She questioned looking around she could see the dark walls and stream of the tunnel I must be dreaming she thought eerily.  She looked around admiring her now sense of sight but felt a bit weary like she'd been in these tunnels  for days. She felt the slope head upward and assumed it led out.  Once she made it out she looked around still able to see and saw a few cats running over. "Leaf Breeze!" A darker brown Tom yowled running over to her happy. "Your alive! I was sure you died you're a sharp claw now! Congrats! If only Owl Feather and Scarlet Breeze were here they'd be so proud of you" the dark brown Tom mewed almost crying his voice full of mixed emotions. She approached him and Lay her head on his neck feeling attached to this Tom like he was kin. The only cats I feel this way about are Oakpaw and Sagepaw is this a vision of the future! No I'm a medicine cat It can't be as thoughts raced through her head. The tom looked vaguely familiar. This was her brother! Not Oakpaw or Sagepaw though...he can't be my brother he's so much older than me! She thought before looking down she had fully grown long legs and a brown tabby pelt with white paws and part of her legs were white I never even knew what I looked like before...she thought before nodding to the tom showing emotion. She turned to see a long legged black tom with a brown underbelly racing towards her smiling. "Leaf Breeze! He mewed looking like he'd lick her he gave her a look the same look Seedpaw gave Oakpaw in that dream! Were she and that tom friends or something deeper. "Hello Shadow Feather" she heard the brown tom who was apparently her brother hear mewed Leafpaw's eyes were
Fixed on Shadow Feather who licked her ear. "Oh come on Thrush Feather me and Leaf Breeze are close right Leaf Breeze!?" He mewed cheerfully. "Uh yeah..." she mewed awkwardly. "Anyway when you two love birds are done Dove Leap is gonna look at your paws Leaf Breeze you're limping" Thrush Feather mewed licking his white paw. Leafpaw nods as a pale gray she cat came out "I see you are a Sharp Claw now Leaf Breeze congrats Shadow Feather is happy you two can finally be mates" Dove Leap mews. "He's my brother if you forgot I'm happy for you both say have you thought about kits?" Dove Leap mews poking at her stomach. "No." Leafpaw mewed pretty confident is she hinting I'm pregnant? Impossible! Leafpaw thought anxiously clawing the ground since she entered the tunnel she had felt much more tired Leafpaw stretched before heading to a nest with her own scent and Shadow Feather's and she eased into sleep.

"Yes I'll check on her she's due in about a moon" Leafpaw heard a tom mew assuming it was Dewnose her mentor she opened her eyes about to welcome her blindness but when she could see she blinked open her eyes to see a reddish brown tom and Shadow Feather standing over her she felt Shadow Feather nuzzle and lick her "Why didn't you say you were expecting me kits! That I'd be a father? You didn't know did you" he mewed softly licking her ear. "I'm so glad you are the father" Leafpaw mewed softly unexpectedly not controlling it HELP she thought gasping. "You're going to be a brilliant mother Snake Tail, mine and Dove Leaps father said you are do any day" he mewed happily. She looked frightened before falling asleep again out of exhaustion.
