Alexa gathered all the things they were going to need as they prepared to leave for the closed factory. She quadruple checked before they all gathered around Pitch. She had texted Logan and was going to bring Nik and Gavin to meet them at the factory. Pitch changed back to his feline form and they were waiting in the parking lot area for a few minutes before Logan pulled in. Nik and Gavin nervously exited the car and waited for Logan. They followed him up to their group.

"Hi, Patrick said happily, bouncing on the balls of his feet with excitement. Logan and Nik both grinned as well. Alexa handed Logan the papers they had drafted up with the spell and the binding they planned for afterward. Logan read it through and showed it to the other two while Kaleth and Pitch moved closer to the entrance to scope the place out. Alexa followed slightly behind them and Patrick snatched his papers back before coming to stand next to her. Alexa took a deep breath and chanted her shield spell, making sure it was strong enough to hold back whatever the ghosts threw at them. She grinned to herself as she heard Logan, Nik, and Gavin gasp at the shield. She had practiced some since Alistair's death and it was at least two feet thick. She wedged the shield just inside the entrance of the factory and everyone huddled under it while they looked into the dark building. They watched as the spirits slowly appeared one after another. Pitch waited until all thirteen were in sight, before focusing on the one Patrick wanted to summon as his familiar. She was off to the right and he took a deep breath looking to Patrick and Alexa.

"Everyone ready?" she asked. Patrick sat down with his papers and spell components laid out in front of him. There was a general agreement so Pitch let the shadows move him next to the target spirit. He took a deep steadying breath before diving forward to grab the spirit and bringing her into the shield. He felt heat emanating from the spirit and jumped away from her as quickly as he could. He could smell singed hair and see a blue glow on the spirit as it looked around in a panic. Kaleth was guarding Alexa as she held up the shield so Pitch moved between her and Patrick as he shuffled the papers in his hands and began to chant the summoning spell. She stared around and decided Patrick was definitely her biggest threat. Pitch gave her a warning growl and she stopped for a moment but as the spell began to take hold of her she started to fight it. It did not look particularly pleasant and Pitch stepped forward in a less threatening manner hoping to help her through this. Being a familiar wasn't perfect but it was definitely better than being a ghost for eternity. She writhed towards the edge of the shield and bounced off Alexa's wall. She fell to the ground but was up on all fours staring around warily. She snarled almost like Pitch but not quite the same. She was more feral and unfocused. She backed away from Patrick but even Pitch could feel the force pulling her into the boy. It wasn't affecting him but the magnitude of it was definitely on another level from Alistar's. He remembered the girl's name. He backed closed to Patrick. It had gotten very loud inside Alexa's dome what with the howling wind and screeching spirit. He looked to see that everyone else was focused on things outside of the shield and stood next to Patrick in his human form.

"Call her name, she's frightened and it is making it harder on both of you. Comfort her." He said before crouching back down so he wouldn't be noticed in his human form. Patrick was staring at the spirit struggling in his spell. He had completed the chanting, now he just had to mix the components. Before he did he called to the ghost.

"Katana." He said gently. His voiced mixing with the hurricane winds and otherworldly sounds he'd managed to summon. There was no way she should have been able to hear his voice but violet eyes darted to meet him and he knew he had to reassure her.

"I want to help you but you need to come to me. We are going to be friends. I will help you out of this place." he said gently. Those violet eyes stared into his, distrustful but listening. He debated on mixing the ingredients then but something told him that helping ease her into this would make things so much smoother.
