The Birthday

Every day C/A/N walked past the fridge for and looked at the birthday invitation, her heart skipped a beat. Thing is too, no one knows she is a seer. Not even her mom. She tried hard not to think about the dream, but it kept popping up everywhere. She heard the singing from the robots in her brain and the laughing from Sara beside her in class.

The days ticked by and the nightmares included birthdays, bears and bunnies whenever it could. The night before the day, she revisited the birthday dream. As always. And the day begun.

She lived trough the boring school day and came home. The present to Sara was neatly packed and was sitting on the sofa ready to get a new owner. C/A/N ate dinner and changed into the cute little dress she always used in birthdays took the package and was of. The pizzeria wasn't far from home, so she walked there. She opened the for and greeted Sara with a "Happy birthday!" Sara smiled back and opened the present. "Wow! The ballet shoes I wanted! Thank you so much C/A/N!" You hugged and went down stairs to the room you where gonna eat in.

The decorating was the same as in the dream (no doubt tho...), it was the same pink and sparkly wallpaper and the same light blue chairs. The same pastel purple sheet and the same few people sitting on the chairs. C/A/N found her seat and the robots arrived with pizza and soda (water for the children who didn't like soda, but who doesn't!). As the robots left the room she glared at their backs and then turned towards her pizza to eat.

There was a rumor going on around this place, this pizzeria. C/A/N was maybe only a 4th grader, as a seer she was way more mature. She knew there had been reports on people disappearing here after closing and she has already suspected murders.

One day after school C/A/N had walked to the pizzeria instead of straight home. She had sneaked behind the building and looked inside the window of the staff room. She had seen the bear stuff a person into the bunny, but had not told anyone.

When the robots came singing into the room with birthday cake it was enough. C/A/N had been here so many times without saying anything. This was the time. After the bunny had put down the cake and they were all singing the last bout of the song, C/A/N jumped. She grabbed the bunny mask and screamed "They have eaten the humans!" "They are trapped inside!"
She kept holding tight as the bunny ticked on her dress to make her let go, but she didn't until the parents lifted her of, just like in the dream. They took her to the hall and called her parents. No more birthday that day.

I know it doesn't seam as if the story has any meaning to the title, but trust me! And wait a bit😅
