After being picked up by Melinda, the trio came to the McAllister residence. Amy had been told that she could stay over and plan for the trip to Greece. Both the adults and surprisingly, Rose and Amy, knew that wouldn't happen. Rose was too easily distracted and Amy always took an excuse to do something other than work. It would be up to Tamara to get them to sit for even ten minutes.
The next day, however, the girls started researching and planning. "I'm going to search up famous authors from Greece," Rose said as she typed something in her computer.
"You do that." Amy patted her friend on the back and walked over to Tamara. "Hey Tara, what are you doing?"
"Same as Rose. We're trying to see who'll find the location first." Tamara didn't take her eyes of the computer screen."
"Good luck," Amy said. She then wandered over to the kitchen where Melinda was chopping vegetables for a soup. "Hey Aunty Melinda, what are you doing?"
"Shouldn't you be helping Rose and Tamara?" Melinda had a look of amusement on her face.
"I was going to, but apparently, they're having a race so I have nothing to do," Amy said. She plopped herself on a barstool. "Can I help you instead?"
Melinda rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Amy, we both know that you'll more likely eat the food than make it yourself."
"I just need something to do." Amy grabbed for a carrot slice.
"Go cheer for Rose then." Melinda whisked the vegetable away from her and started chopping up potatoes.
Amy went back to the living room where Rose was standing up in triumph. "I know where we are going."
"Stop the suspense. Just tell her," Tamara grumbled.
"Out of all these names, who do you recognize?" Rose showed the laptop to Amy.
"There's Homer, like Homer Simpson, Plato, and Aristotle," Amy said. "But none of them are writers."
Rose nodded. "I considered that so I kept looking and found Euripides."
"Euripides?" Amy frowned. "But it says here that here was a tragedian."
"Tragedians are playwrights and playwrights are also authors." Tara said. "He was in Salamis Island. Have you heard of it?"
"No." Amy shook her head. "But since Tamara confirmed your crazy theory, I can believe it."
"Thank you for the vote of confidence, Amy," Rose muttered.
"Your welcome."
Because Tamara woke up late (again), the girls found themselves rushing to make boarding. They elbowed and shoved their way through the crowds, Tamara and Rose apologizing and excusing themselves. The entire time, Amy just wanted to punch them both for wasting precious seconds on civilities. Just as they came to the gate, the attendant was closing the entrance. Panting, Tamara slapped their boarding passes on her desk. "Please ma'am, this flight is really important."
Pursing her lips, the woman sharply exhaled through her nose and allowed them in.
"That was too close, Tamara." Rose used her sister's full name for the first time in many months. "I'm going to kill you."
"I'll help you hide the body," Amy chimed in.
"Shut up, Amy," Tamara muttered
After the trio landed in Athens, Tamara immediately created a itinerary for the short time they would be spending in Athens. "First, we're going to see the Parthenon, which is on the Athenian Acropolis, then the Temple of Zeus, and if we have time, the ancient Agora."
