You were small, petite, even breakable as some might say but that didn't stop you. You were going to show them what they had coming without even so much as a word. Though you didn't want anyone to know your true potential.

You were silent. You had no reason to speak. The only time you spoke was when someone had spoken to you but would that change? Was there anything in this world that could honestly make you want to say anything for yourself?

You didn't make friends. You didn't go out of your way to talk to anyone. You didn't even defend yourself when someone spoke rudely to you. You just didn't, and that's how you'd thought it would say.

You were a late trainee. It was the last minute when you tried joining the 104th Training Corps but the woman running it was oddly kind so she let it slide. You were lined up with over 50 cadets around your age, all saluting to nothing but a man in front of them.

Training included 3DMG practice, hand-on-hand combat, and the writing portion to see what you knew about the three walls Maria, Rose, and Sina.

Though, training was different this time around. It wasn't the same people who ran it as before. Starting today it was Commander Erwin Smith, Commander Hanji Zoe, and Captain Levi Ackerman, Humanities Strongest. This was new and not everyone was sure how to take it.

Each leader took over a different portion of the training, though, during each division, the other leaders would watch.

It was day 1 and everyone was up early for the training. Commander Erwin Guided everyone to the woods where they would work with 3DMG. This was Stage 1. Step 1 of Stage 1 wasn't an issue because it was just gaining balance but oddly enough, some people had issues. Eren Yaeger to be exact. You shook your head as you watched the poor boy struggle.

Step 2 was maneuvering from tree to tree. You honestly didn't do too bad. You shot yourself into the air, taking in the sweet smell of nature before taking off down the course. You zipped through, passing other cadets along the way, catching them by surprise. Damn it, (Y/n)... Don't give yourself away.

Step 3 was fighting in the air. There were large wood planks of fake titans at which you were supposed to slit the napes of the necks. It felt good to hold the weapons in your hands. At Erwins go, you bolted, jumping into the air, making your way around each wooden titan, taking away the necks. At your final one, you spun into the air, spiraling your way down, breaking the board into two. Shit. Chill, (Y/n)!

This caught the leaders eyes and it worried you. Hanji looked to Erwin, eyes wide. "Erwin, can you believe such a petite girl could do such damage? I mean, you could just look at shorty but she's different. I can just tell. I like this one!" She exclaimed.

"Tch, Shitty Glasses... You and your jokes, but I wouldn't give her too much credit. This is only the first stage in training. We'll see how she does in stage 2." Said Levi, his gaze not once leaving your form as you moved.

Erwin only smiled at the two bickering leaders, when he turned back in your direction. "I don't know, Levi. Hanji may be on to something here."

It was day 2 and Stage 2. Hand to hand combat. Levi had rounded everyone who was left into a circle around him. "Alright, listen, brats! Today will not be as easy as yesterday. I will not sugar-coat, nor will I be your buddy. Today will be work and only work got it?!" He shouted.

"Sir, yes sir!" Everyone shouted in unison, but you.

"Good. Now I need a brat to volunteer and come here." Eren raised his hand in excitement and Levi sighed, obviously frustrated by the only option at the moment. "No, Yaeger,"

Reiner Braun patted your back hard, pushing you forward. "Why not cutie? Let's see what you've got."

'Rrrr, Reiner...' You thought.

"Cadet (L/n)? Fine. Come here." Levi demanded.

You shyly walked towards him, rubbing your arm with your gaze drifted towards the ground. The hot sun was beating down on all of you and you weren't sure how to feel. You didn't want to embarrass yourself in front of everyone, and you especially didn't want to embarrass Humanities Strongest, himself. As you knew your abilities but what about the others? They had no idea.

"Well, cadet? Get into your fighting stance." Levi stood still as you rose your fists, one knee bent slightly out. You could be wrong, but you thought you saw a slight smirk appear on his face.

"Get him, (Y/n)!" Christa yelled.

Eren and Armin rose their fists into the air, "Yeah get him! You can do it!" Were they cheering for you? W-Why? No one did that for you...

Your leg gave out, as you fell to the ground. Levi had kicked you while you listened to the others cheer. "Never lose focus, (L/n)."

You groaned and stood up, a small limp in your leg. Before you knew it, Levi came at you, though he missed with you swinging your good leg below his, sending him to the ground.

'Got him!' You thought to yourself.

Everyone's eye's widened, including the other leaders but not Levi. "Tch... Not bad, brat. But it isn't enough." His body swiftly moved up to yours, catching your arms, pulling them behind your back. You struggled to get lose from his grip but it was no use. One of his hands held both of yours, while his free hand grabbed your hair. He forced your head down into the dirt where you coughed.

"Levi!" Hanji yelled. "Don't go too hard on the cadets!" Her brows furrowed in anger. He didn't actually care about the other cadets. It was just you. You had humiliated him in front of everyone and he wasn't going to let that slide.

You could hear a 'Tch' leave his mouth as he let go of you, leaving you there. "Anyways, this is what you will be doing today. Pair up and go!"

Everyone scrammed, leaving you on the ground. You sat up, wiping the dirt off your face when you saw blood on your hand. A rock must have cut you pretty good when your face hit the ground. Levi just looked at you for a moment before he shook his head and walked away. Hanji and Erwin both walked to you, helping you up. "Excellent work today, cadet," Hanji said.

You nodded as a thank you, of course, not wanting to speak. You were surprised though. Erwin lifted your chin to look at you and he shook his head as his brows furrowed. "That Levi, always too rough. Go to the infirmary and get it bandaged up, will you? It doesn't look too bad but it at least needs something to cover it while it heals." You again nodded and walked by them towards Headquarters. Your brows were also furrowed as you thought to yourself.

'Damn that Captain... Such a jerk. His actions were completely unnecessary.'

As you walked to the door you glanced up seeing the Captain leaned against the framing. You didn't bother looking at him anymore and you kept your gaze forward. Your shoulders hit each other as you passed and not a single word came out of either of your mouths.

You could tell this was the start of an unbeautiful friendship... scratch that last word... It was more like enmity...
