1: THIS IS GOSPEL

"If you love me, let me go" -Panic! at the Disco

"Hey Penny," I said, sliding into the seat beside her.

"What's the word, hummingbird?" she replied.

"Seriously, stop doing that." I picked up my burger and started eating. We were in school. At the canteen, specifically. It was lunch time now. But lunch time on this very day, was different. For once a year, I would gladly avoid going to the school's canteen on lunch time. If only I wasn't hungry, which I was, so I was doomed and forced to come.

"Doing what?" Penny asked.

"Nothing, nevermind," I answered. Although red was one of my most favorite colors, it was getting overused on this very day. And on this day, suddenly everyone else would have a relationship, and suddenly, I would feel like the most unlovable loser in the world (no hard depressing feelings there).

"So," Penny started, "What are you doing today, since it's Valentine's Day?"

Yes, indeed, it was Valentine's Day. No, I have nothing against it whatsoever, but everyone else is being so cliche and romantic on this day and lots of girl squeals are all around that you just can't avoid wherever you go.

"I'm going to the bar tonight," I said.

"You're performing?"

"Yeah. How about you?"

"Well, also to the bar, of course. What's a party at Catharsis without Queen Penelope?"

"Right, right," I said, chuckling. Catharsis is the bar where Penny and I always go to for whatever reasons: meet ups, group study, or even just to hang out. It was like our home, and the bartender couple that ran the bar, Mr. and Mrs. Davidson treated us as their kids.

Sometimes, I perform a few gigs in the bar as a part-time job. At times I bring a guitar, at times I bring a piano. And sometimes, Penny even brings a drum pad if she knows the song I was gonna perform. Our music taste hardly ever crosses each other's.

"So, what song are you singing later?" She asked, but before I could answer, what seemed like almost every girl in room filled the air will loud, sharp, super girly squeals. Out of curiosity, I looked around to see what they were sqealing about. But I saw nothing.

"What's that about?" I asked Penny. She pointed towards one of the canteen tables in the middle of the canteen, and I finally saw what the gushes are about— there was a guy serenading a girl, who looked like she was about to faint. The guy brought a guitar, and was singing what seemed to be a Taylor Swift song. His friends gave the girl flowers and chocolates, too.
