After talking over the Phone with Mark for about an hour, Emily happily ran upstairs. Mark had invited her to go camping with him for a week and Emily had happily accepted the offer.

Emily had packed all her stuff and bags, so she decided to head to bed.
Tomorrow was going to be a long day... She thought as she couldn't suppress her smile.

Emily had just stacked her bags on a small pile infront of the door and was now waiting for Mark, when suddenly her door bell rang.
Emily opened the door to reveal a smiling Mark standing in front of her.

"Reay to go?" He asked.

Emily nodded and they began to fit the bags in the car.

After being on their way to River Woods, they place they'd be spending their week together, Emily realised something horrible...

"Oh no..."Emliy mumbled as she face-palmed herself.

"What's wrong??" Mark worriedly asked as he looked at Emily in the mirror in front of him.

"I forgot my sketchbook..." Emily said in a sad tone, which made Mark chuckle.

"Cute..."He mumbled to himself.

Soon Mark and Emily had arrived.

Mark was busy setting up the tent and Emily was clumsily trying to help. Unfortunately, Emily didn't exactly know what she was doing, so she ended up almost stabbing Mark's left foot with an iron bar, which led  to Mark asking her to just help getting the bags out of the car.

Not much later the sun had starting setting and the two had finally finished setting up the tent.

"Hey...." Mark said with a slight smirk on his lips.

Emily raised one eybrow into a weird-looking frown.

"What?" She asked curiously.

"I brought marshmallows..." Mark said with a cheeky smile.

"Really?!" Emily asked excited.

Emily was smiling happily. She was finally with her best, and only, friend.
This was going to be the best week of her life!

After the friends had eaten about the whole bag of marshmallows and sun had fully gone down, Mark and Emily decided to talk a little about their lives; school, jobs, hobbies, etc.

"- so yeah... I'll have to do well this year." Mark said."

"You will. Don't worry." Emily said with a sweet smile on her face.

"Thanks..."
"So... You still like Daniel?"

"Yeah..."
Emily sighed before she continued her sentence.
"But he probably doesn't even know I have the same classes as him."

Emily let out a soft chuckle after saying the last sentence. A chuckle Mark knew well. A chuckle filled with pain and regret.

"Hey... Are you okay?" Mark asked in a sweet voice.

Emily looked up. Tears slowly beginning to form in her eyes.
Mark was about to say something, when Emily suddenly stood up.

"Ehmm... I'm getting a bit tired. I think I'm going to bed. You can still stay if you want."

"Sure..." Mark said as he looked at his friend.

"Poor Emily..."Mark thought.
"She doesn't deserve this.
"If only I could find a way to help..."
  He mumbled to himself.
