Rebirth

Day 2

Okay so I first had to limit the amount of the gases in the air I was breathing in. So I went to the dollar store and grabbed those little guns with the tiny nets that fire out of them I took the nets and attached them to a hat I got from the next store over creating a makeshift respirator out of the nets. It works the same way a water filter does with the gas coming into the mask through the little holes and if the parts of the air that are to thick won't be able to get through the nets. Of course this one is flawed so I had to ductape the guard to a rubber mask from Party City I brought the ductape with me since there is no way I'm wearing this thing all the time. It doesn't have to last me all the time. Just until I can build a shelter. I have to try avoiding looking down. Bodies are littered all over the place. Another reason I don't care how garbage my gas mask is. A corpse releases spores into the air from all the oxygen that was once in their blood and lungs. The process of decomposition in humans usually takes about 30 days to fully decompose I have maybe 3 until whatever was in them comes right back out at me. In about 30 days everyones insides will spill out into total liquification. Tory, Alex, Mom, Drew, Grandma, Jovonni, Sean.... I can't think about that right now or else I'm joining them. I have some protection next I'm heading to Home Depot to go get some building materials theirs bound to be least some pvc pipes. Usually I'm scared to go into Paterson it's where the most crime happens near my area but since everyone in Hawthorne is dead from a blast that took place in New York than Paterson should be equally effected if not more. I never got to go to Jovonni's grandma's barbecue. Kain seriously haven't you ever seen a movie you start getting sentimental next thing you know there's an axe in your head. I'm not letting my guard down. Not yet, if I do fail it won't be the first day of the end of the world. My camp counselor always said I'd be dead in a week. I have to at least prove him wrong otherwise 12 year old Kain would have wasted his breathe arguing with him. Sorry it's the little things that keep me going. Anyways I'm here and I can't write and pry at the same time.
Alright and I'm back. There was alot more than I was expecting. Not only did I find 3 PVC pipes I also found some wooden panels and like 13 yards of sheet metal. As a bonus I found a roll out fence. Of course while I was there I grabbed what was obviously going to be there shovel, pickaxe, hammer, nails what you would expect to find at a crafts store. I returned to the park and checked my watch.
4:30 A.M September 25th. Monday
I have a digital watch so it shows the date and day as well. It's not an Apple Watch but it gets the job done. It was already scratched up and the paint is chipped from all the times I threw it so I guess it already has that post apocalyptic look to it right? I'm sorry I'll get to building now. I've already been out here for 3 hours and this thing only increases my max exposure time by 40%. So I have about 4 more hours until my blood feels like acid and maybe about
A day until my lungs can't handle working overtime to make up for me limiting my air supply. I also have to figure out how to decontaminate the air in my shelter once it's built.
Okay I think I did it. It's not much but first thing I did was dig a 12 by 12 foot hole about 10 feet underground so that way I still have the added bonus of contamination happening slower since particles rise into the air all of the light breathable stuff is down here. I couldn't really decontaminate the air until I remember about this one plant that could physically transfer co2 into breathable oxygen and that as far the excess oxygen goes it just feeds the thing more I put a glass pane over it so it gets plenty of sunlight and this thing requires less than a cup of water a day. Also if I didn't make it obvious I had to go back out first to a floral shop it's called Sonic Bloom. It's also where I found the glass. Next to a clothing shop by the dollar store where I picked up some clothing to use as a makeshift bed and I found an emoji pillow over at Jembros. Well it took all day but now I can breathe. Seriously that much time and all that happened is I can breathe. If it took that much effort just to be able to not die from air. How hard is it going to be to find water and food?
Maybe there is a Snake Plant like solution to that too.
