Chapter 3: Surprises

Reighz's POV:

It has been a week since that tragedy happened. Some students that are still alive stopped going to school. In our class, there are now only 24 students out of 53, 13 died while the others aren't attending school. It is only natural, as we all experienced the same tragedy. This week will be our semester break, and as we rest in all of this chaos, we hope that this
year-long tragedy will stop eventually.

"Reighz, come down here! Your father and I will talk to you." Mom said while probably preparing our dinner tonight. I was in my bedroom, having a rest.

"It is important, Reighz!" Dad yelled. I immediately got up and change from my school uniform.

"Coming!" I said, while unbuttoning my uniform. As I changed up, I suddenly felt the chills from the breeze tonight in my window. I closed and locked the window, then head downstairs. In the dining table, both my Mom, Dad, and my two little siblings are already sat, probably waiting for me.

"Onii-chan, Omelette! Omelette!" Riku, my little brother said, while eating his favorite food, rice omelette.

"Riku, don't eat that with your fingers. Here is your spoon." my Mom said, handling the spoon to him. My Dad laughed a little, then patted him.

"Papa, I want also be patted!" Mei, my little sister said, while trying to reach Dad's hands. My Dad patted her, then burst a laugh.

"Come and sit down, Reighz. Or your food might get cold!" Mom said to me. I sat down the dining chair, then eat my dinner. After 15 minutes, Mom suddenly talked to me in a serious manner.

"Reighz, are you alright not going to transfer to another school? It is your only way to escape that holocaust."

"Your Mom is right. You should get transferred--" I interrupt my Dad while talking.

"It is alright Dad, Mom. I'm going to be alright. Besides, there's no way that I can transferred out. It is said in that contract, right?" both my parents turned their heads down, in response at what I said. I started washing my plates, then head upstairs into my bedroom. As I opened the door, I noticed that the window that I closed and locked is already open. I looked and tried to find who opened it, but no luck. As I about to close it again, I noticed a note in my study desk beside my bed. I closed and locked the window, then pick uo the paper.

"Why is there a piece of paper here? And it is crumbled..." as I turned it, there is a note there, saying...

Everyone's lives is
in your hands, Reighz-kun. Make everyone meet in the park near the school an hour from now.

I suddenly shiver in fear. I don'y know if this is a prank or what. Out of nervousness, I quickly called everyone I know, then said to them to call every students, teachers and the principal, and meet at the Playground Park near the school.

"Huh? But it is already 22:54 in the evening, I think it is just a prank, Reighz-kun."

"It is true, trust me. There is also a picture that I want all of you to see, to proof that this is a doing of the culprit." I said to my classmate.

30 minutes later, almost everyone is in the park. I saw my classmates, the teachers, and more importantly, the principal.

"What is this nonsense,
Reighz-kun, making everyone meet at the middle of the night!" one of the teachers said.

"Quiet, Sensei. I need to talk to him." Sayaka-sensei said.

"Is it true Kogorime Reighz-kun of what you're saying?" the principal asked. I handed her the paper and a small picture that is with it. In the picture, there are students that are dead, 7 people in total.
