throwback ( YooKyung's POV )

BitNa,my elder sister, shook me up from my nap."Keep your noise level down...ssshhh..." She whispered into my ears as soon I was wide awake. I obeyed her and kept my mouth shut despite not knowing what the whole situation was all about and was flustered.

Without making any noise,we crept near the door and opened the doorknob slightly,peeping through the tiny gap. All I could see was Mum and Dad kneeling on the floor and pleading to a tall figure who was hovering over them. He had a pistol gun in his hand.

Then, I saw a engravement on both my parents' arm,one that I did not see before. BitNa and I hid behind the cupboard that was closer to the door before hearing the glass being shattered,followed by an evil cackle that covered over my parents' murmuring. BitNa covered my ears,not wanting me to hear the commotion out there.

After a moment of silence,we went back to the door. I gasped in horror when the tall figure pointed towards his gun directly at my mother before pulling the trigger. My eyes widened as he shot my father too. At that moment,all I could see was my parents,who were badly bruised with cuts and wounds,were lying in a pool of crimson red blood.

They were gone.

Tears streamed down my cheeks as BitNa held her hands over my mouth to not let me make any noise. She was sobbing while biting her lips,not wanting the tall figure to hear us. However,things did not go as we hoped. The figure was approaching our room with a smirk. Without any hesitation, we stood up and ran towards the window and immediately opened them.

"JUMP! THERE ISN'T ANY TIME LEFT!" BitNa shouted while she was crying.

Just then,that person slammed our door against the concrete wall.Seeing that person's face for that short moment,I was already shaken with fear.I hesitated for awhile before jumping out of the window. Before I could even think straight with a clear mind,a loud deafening gunshot could be heard.It was too late.BitNa was not able to make it. She was unable to escape. She's gone with Mum and Dad...

"AHHH!WHAT HAVE I DONE?!" I cried out loud while running away from my house despite the bruises I got when I fell onto the grass patch.

Not long after,thunder roared and flashes of lightning cut through the dark,gloomy night. As if my cries of sorrow was heard,it soon began to rain heavily. Under the droplets of rain of the downpour,my tears was yet to be seen. I did not notice that I was bare-footed and was in the middle of the road. Before I knew of everything, I could only stare at the incoming car while I stood there,frozen. Everything went blank...

(back to no one's POV)

"YAH! YooKyung-ah,go to bed already. It's late at night and you wouldn't wanna be punished by that always-thinks-im-your-superior Sir Kim tomorrow!" Somi,YooKyung's current elder sister, hollered to her as she crawled into her bed. YooKyung just laughed it off when she rolled her eyes.

Somi had been YooKyung's elder sister after BitNa's death. Both BitNa and Somi were close friends. She took care of YooKyung who was in coma for a few months since the day of the incident after she was hit by the car and admitted into the hospital,doing her best to fulfil her task that her bestfriend had given to her before her death which it seemed like she had known about that day from the start.

"Promise me to take good care of that clumsy YooKyung in my place if there was a day that I would disappear from this world." That was all the BitNa said to Somi a week before her death. Somi did not break her friend's promise and decided to let YooKyung be her younger sister.

All three of them had been together since they got into the Police Academy. Their goal was to become a person who could give back to the society.

YooKyung let out a sigh as she went to the toilet to wash up before she tugged into her bed in the midnight,still thinking about the incident and trying to find anything that she might have missed out in the midst of the chaos during that time. After looking at the family photo which her family and her last took together during a vacation,Yookyung then fell asleep while having the thoughts of it still hanging in her mind. She was burning with determination to find the culprit.
