Riverdale
The aftermath of Fred's shooting was starting to subside. The older kind man was starting, slowly to recover from the physical and emotional injuries of the previous weeks and the rest of riverdale was starting to get back to normality which was hi lighting the two missing people that had now been gone for two months
Alice cooper had been to the police a number of times since Jughead and her sweet Betty had been missing. But as Betty was now 18 and Jughead was not months over that age the police couldn't do anything to help the coopers
The feelings of Archie and Veronica however had a very different opinion on the disappearance of their two friends. In Archie's and Veronica's hour of need they weren't present. They had tried repeatedly to get in contact with the couple but nothing had been successful.
They had been there whenever Betty and Jughead needed them and the coincidence of the time they left to Archie was not an accident
One dark night after Fred's shooting Archie and Veronica sat in his room hospital room the only noise was the beep of Fred's slow heart beat from a machine.
"Listen" Archie said to Veronica "if Betty and Jughead come back they aren't our friends any more, they deserted us" the sporadic sound of his voice made Veronica feel anxious but she knew he was right " okay Archie okay" she held onto his muscular arm tightly and slowly rubbed it "well get through this okay?" She asked
She looked up to him "okay?" But the silence of the room and continuous beeping was all that answered her
They had survived the two months alone, with only each other, but they had lost what was left of their childhood and their best friends
