"Dave, that's like the third time you've gotten the lyrics wrong. what's up with you?" Hunter asked as he gave Davey a confused look. They had been rehearsing for their show tonight and Davey just could not seem to get the lyrics to Miss Murder right. even though he had been singing that song for years. "I'm sorry. i'm just a little out of it..i'll get it in time for tonight's show. i promise" He replied as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Hopefully. is there something going on? we've been doing that song for years and you're just now messing up?" Hunter added. Davey looked down at the floor for a moment before looking back up at his concerned bandmate. "Everything is fine. let's just continue, please?" Davey asked. Luckily, he was able to get the lyrics right this time also during the show. "Thank you so much! we are AFI" Davey stated before leaving the stage. as soon as he stepped off, it was almost like he went numb. the sound of the crowd cheering was distorted and he was set on getting the hell out of that building. he needed fresh air and some time to himself. All of the stress from the tour was driving him insane. that, and he was dealing with severe heartache. being around Jade was hell for Davey and knowing that he couldn't have him was torture.  He finally got outside of the building and ran to the tour bus. standing behind it to try to hide from any crew or possible fans that could be waiting for him. "What the hell am i going to do? be pissy and hide after every show? " he thought. suddenly, he heard a voice from the other side of the bus. "Dave?" He took a deep breath and looked around. it was Jade. "damn it" he thought. "What's going on with you? and don't give me some bullshit answer. i know you enough to know when you're lying." Jade stated as he walked closer to him. "Uh..i've just been stressed. with the tour and all.." Davey said as he looked down. "Davey..how long have we been touring for? i understand getting stressed but you're past the point of stressed. i've never seen you act this way because of touring." Jade replied. Jade knew something was up and was not going to leave until he knew exactly why Davey was being so weird. "You know exactly why i'm being like this. don't try to fucking tell me you don't." Davey spat. Jade looked down for a moment before looking back up to see a teary eyed Davey. "Dave.." "No. don't fucking give me any bullshit excuse. you know exactly why i've been this way and there's nothing either of us can do about it so let's just fucking forget it!" Davey interrupted. Jade walked even closer to him. "You're right. i do know. i'm sorry. but like you said, there's nothing either of us can do about it. i can't just leave her.." Jade replied. Davey looked into Jade's eyes as tears rolled down his face. "I just want to feel loved by you. that's all i ever wanted." Jade looked around, making sure nobody was around. "Davey, you know i love you. i have so much love for you. but i can't leave Marissa. i just- can't." he whispered as he wiped a tear from Davey's face. They made eye contact before Jade softly kissed him. it had been years since Davey felt Jade's lips on his. Davey stood there enjoying every second as he knew it wouldn't last long. after a few seconds, Jade slowly pulled back, looking into Davey's eyes. "Believe me when i say i love you. i'm sorry." He whispered before walking away. Davey stood there feeling numb. "I love you too" he replied as he watched Jade walk back into the building. As much as it hurt him and as much as he wanted to just grab Jade and kiss him again, he had to let go. because if you truly love something, set it free. if it doesn't come back to you, then it was never truly yours.
