stephanie could hear the faint ringing of their kitchen telephone as she woke up but decided to ignore it when andrew answered. she let out a tired yawn as she rolled onto her side, closing her eyes again. "stephanie! the phone!" andrew yelled from the kitchen, to which she ignored and tried to go back to sleep. the oldest cooper rolled his eyes and yelled even louder, "stephanie hope cooper, come get the phone!" stephanie let out a groan and gave up on trying to fall back asleep and made her way downstairs, glaring as she took the phone from her brother, putting it up to her ear, "hello?" "stephanie hope, huh?" said the cocky voice on the phone, making the girl roll her eyes, "shut the fuck up. what do you want, richie?" she asked in a monotone and groggy voice as she hardly listened to him ramble, standing up straighter when he mentioned beverly and coming to her apartment. stephanie had quickly grown close to beverly, she enjoyed spending time with the girl, even outside of the losers' club. "yeah, yeah, i'll meet you there." she said before quickly hanging up the phone, turning towards her brother who raised his eyebrow at her. "can i go meet the boys at beverly's place?" andrew shrugged, nodding his head at his sister, "sure. may i suggest a shower first? you look like a dead rat." he teased, laughing when stephanie groaned and punched his arm before running up the stairs to shower and get dressed.

after quickly getting ready, stephanie grabbed her bike and pedalled off towards beverly's apartment, worrying about what could be so important this early. "steph! hey, baby!" richie yelled as stephanie came to a stop right in front of him, tilting her head, "where is everyone?" she asked, richie shrugged in response, "they left me out here to keep watch." he said with a frown, making stephanie actually feel bad for the trash talker. "well, you're lucky i'm here!" she said with a grin, making richie chuckle. she dropped her bike and took a criss-cross seat on the ground, pulling out her book. she glanced to richie as he sat next to her, staring at her. "what are you staring at, tozier?" she asked, making him go red, "just you, hot stuff." he replied, faking pain when she nudged him with her elbow. "there you are! what took you so long?!" beverly exclaimed as her and the other boys came down the stairs."i was trying to sleep before tozier had to call me and wake me up. i was having a peaceful dream." she explained to beverly. "was it about me?" richie asked stephanie, who ignored him as they all grabbed their bikes and began pushing them down the street, minus richie who was riding his in circles around the group, bitching once the situation was explained to him and stephanie. "no, really, i love being your personal first pick for doorman. could you idiots have taken any longer?" he complained, most of the group ignoring him. "shut up, richie!" eddie snapped, stephanie chuckling quietly at the small boy, "oh, okay. trash the trashmouth, i get it! at least me and steph weren't scrubbing the bathroom floor and imagining that the sink had gone off like eddie's mom's vagina on halloween." he yelled, still circling them. bill came to a stop, looking at this friends, "she didn't imagine it. i-i saw s-s-something too." "you saw blood?" stan asked, confused, he thought they had already gone over this. bill shook his head slowly, "not blood. i-i saw georgie. it seemed so real, i mean it seemed like him but there was this-" "a clown. yeah, i saw him too." eddie cut him off, nodding. "can only virgins see this stuff? is that why i'm not seeing this shit?" richie asked, looking at all of them. "i didn't see a clown, but i saw something. i thought i was crazy." stephanie said, looking at stan who nodded in agreement.
