"i can't believe i drew the short straw. you guys are lucky we aren't measuring dicks." richie said to his friends, making stephanie snort and shake her head, "you would've lost." the four of them looked around the main entrance of the house, stephanie frowning and following richie as he walked towards a piano and grabbed a paper out of the cobweb hanging from the ceiling.
"it says i'm missing!" he called out to the others, starting to panic. "richie, you aren't missing. it's playing tricks on you." bill said as him and eddie rushed over to the boy. "police department, city of derry! look! that's my shirt, that's my hair, that's my face, that's my name, that's my age, and that's the date! what the fuck! why does it say I'm missing!" he screamed at the taller boy, his hands shaking as eddie watched, his hands covering his mouth as he watched one of his best friends freak out, something that wasn't normal for richie. stephanie took the poster out of richie's hands and replaced them with her own, looking at him. "richie, look at me. It's not real, you're not missing. calm down." she said, trying to soothe the boy who's finally having his first experience with It. he started to calm his breathing down, nodding slowly at the girl who brought him into her arms for a tight hug.
the four kids made their way up the stairs, deciding to look around up there, heading towards a door at the end of the hall. eddie heard his name and turned around, walking towards the other end of the hall. stephanie noticed this and quickly followed him, setting a hand on his shoulder. "you okay, eds?" she whispered, giving him a concerned look. the door slammed behind bill and richie, separating them from haley and eddie, who were still in the hallway. "richie! bill!" stephanie yelled, grabbing eddie's hand and running towards the end of the hall, stopping when the floor had fallen through right in front of the door. richie and bill tried to pry the door open, screaming for their friends. eddie was panicking when a leper tapped him on the shoulder, causing him and stephanie to turn around. he gasped and fell backwards through the hole in the ground. stephanie yelled his name and jumped through the hole to the bottom floor of the house, as carefully as she could. she was sitting on the floor next to him, trying to comfort him when the fridge door open and out came the clown, pennywise.
meanwhile upstairs, richie and bill were still trying to pull the door open "richie!" a feminine voice had giggled and richie stood up straighter and whipped around upon hearing the voice, stephanie's voice. his eyes widened at the view of his crush, smiling at him with that beautiful smile that he loved so much. "c'mon richie!" she giggled, winking at him as she backed away, into a separate room. he was in a daze as he followed what he thought was the girl of his dreams, into the separate room, only to stop when she wasn't anywhere to be seen. "steph! come on, now's not the time!" he whispered-shouted, looking around the room for the girl. "richie?" this time, he heard bill's voice and turned around, seeing his best friend give him a concerned look from the other room. richie shook himself out of his daze and started for the door to join bill again, before it was also slammed shut. "fuck, bill! open the door!" he called out.
eddie and stephanie were both in a mixture of screaming and crying as pennywise slowly walked towards them, mocking both kids. pennywise jumped at eddie and grabbed his throat, tilting his head up as eddie began to gag. "tasty, tasty, beautiful fear. i think i will take you first." he said to eddie before turning to look at stephanie, reaching his hand out to stroke her cheek, "then you." he said, smiling at the girl sinisterly, "nope. hell no, fuck this." stephanie said then let out a scream as the clown barred his teeth at the two kids. he was just about to bite into eddie's arm when he stopped, just as richie and bill had managed to leave the room upstairs. covering eddie's crying face with his hand, he turned around to look at the two boys as they ran into the room, with a hurt look on his face. "this isn't real enough for you, billy? i'm not real enough for you?" he questioned, mocking a hurt expression. "it was real enough for georgie!" bill let his jaw drop after hearing this.
pennywise got up and started to charge towards the two, showing his teeth, before beverly ran in the house and stabbed a piece of rebar into the side of his head. richie and bill ran towards stephanie and eddie, bill pulling the girl into his arms, trying to soothe her as richie tried to help eddie with his arm. pennywise turned back around, pushing his claws out of his gloves, stalking towards the four kids before swiping his hand across ben's stomach and quickly turning to go down to the basement, bill quick to follow him. "bill, no!" stephanie called out as stan rushed over to continue comforting her. bill stood on the stairs and watched the clown slowly disappear down the well, staring at him. upon hearing beverly call for him, bill quickly made his way up the stairs as richie snapped eddie's arm back into place and pulled him up, him and ben guiding him out of the house, rushing to their bikes to get eddie back home.
