Natalie’s P.O.V
“Are you sure about this?” dad asked. We’re packing up the car with my luggage. I shoved another bag in making sure it’s properly organized so all three bags would fit. I know 3 is too much but, it’s for a whole year.
“Yeah dad. I won’t back down now; Nate’s way too excited already. I would get his hopes up if I cancel.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right.” He flashed me a sad smile and I returned a genuine happy smile. Dad and I never separated. Ever. He said that he doesn’t want to take his eyes off of me cause maybe in just one blink I’d be gone. Off to become a woman and not his little princess anymore. Typical dad, so deep.
“Come on dad. It’s just for a year. Besides you could visit us. You know, during special occasions like my birthday, Christmas, his graduation?”
“Don’t worry princess. I’ll be there if I could, and if you’d need me. Just ring me up.” He smiled. This time it reached his eyes. It’s nice to see him happy like that. He’ll age fast if he keeps worrying about nonsense.
We arrived at the airport safely and a little late. I started to look for my passport and ticket. I made sure I put them on my body bag where I can find them immediately.
“Ready? Your flights in an hour. You better hurry so you could go and check in your luggage.” My dad said as he pushed my cart towards the entrance towards the counter. We stopped by the doors cause he’s not a passenger. I looked at him and smiled. I’ll miss him so much. I walked up to him and gave him a hug.
“Yup. I will miss you so much dad.” I whispered to his ear. I’m starting to tear up now. Oh god.
Should. Hide. Tears.
“I will too princess. Now go. You only have an hour left and you’re wasting it by sobbing for leaving your old man to see your brother.” I smiled at him and took away the cart from his hands.
“You go too. You still have some clients waiting for you in the studio.” I gave him a kiss on the cheek and walked towards the counter, waving back at him for the last time as he turned his back and started to walk away.
When I made my way towards the counter, well hell. The line was way long. I found one that’s specifically for large baggage, specifically for the ones who take time. There were two people lined up. But it’s better than the ones that have 10 people. Plus, there was a lady having some sort of argument with the staff, saying she didn’t over baggage. After 30 minutes, I’m finally next.
This is it. I’m finally gonna see him. After 2 years, of just chatting through internet or texting through phone. I’m finally gonna see him. Face to face. God how much I him. I was checking in my luggage when my phone vibrated.
‘Call me when you arrive, right away. Got it?’ ~ Dad.
Being the over protective king he is towards his beloved princess. I smiled. I love it when my dad becomes protective. It makes me feel special and loved.
“Passengers for flight number 09837. Your flight will depart in 10 minutes.”
“Shit!” I took my tickets from the lady. “Thank you!” I shouted as I ran towards my gate. Shit. I can’t be late. No. No. No.
The ladies standing by the gate we’re already starting to pack up and leave.
“WAIT!” I shouted as I made my way through the door. The lady smiled sweetly.
“Can I still go in?” I asked, panting. God, I need water.
“Not unless you give me your ticket.” She answered and smiled. Lady’s got game. I smiled at her and gave her my ticket. “Enjoy your flight ma’am. Bon voyage!” She said with a sweet smiled plastered on her face. “Thank you!” I shouted as I ran towards my plane.
“Please buckle up your seat belts for takeoff.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to John F. Kennedy Airport. Local time is 4am and the temperature is 29°C” The captain announced. I’m here. I’m finally here. I turned on my phone and saw multiple messages from Nate.
‘Hey, I’ll be there in 10.’ Nate; 3am
‘I bought your favorite snacks with me. Skittles, the green one!’ Nate; 3:15am
‘I have a surprise for you but.. you’re not yet here so..’ Nate; 3:20am
‘What time will you arrive?! God woman! Been waiting here forever.’ Nate; 3:30am
‘Opps. Drained my battery. Come here now! I only have 10% left!’ Nate; 3:55am
“God! Come out NOOW!’ Nate; 4:00am
Isn’t he sweet? And patient! Don’t forget patient! I walked off the plane and made my way towards the baggage claim. I waited for my bag patiently and grabbed them as soon as I had them in sight. A security guard helped me grab my bags, cause I can’t carry them. I might break my back. He put them nicely on my cart.
“Thank you.” I said and gave a sweet smile. I went to the arrival pick-up and tried to spot Nate. Where is he?
“TAAAAAAALIE!”
“TAAALIE! OVER HERE!” He shouted as he raised his hand waving towards him. I smiled. Seeing him for the first time again. I ran up to him for a hug. He caught me in his arms and twirled me around.
“I missed you so much, little sis!” He said with a grin on his face.
“I miss you too, bro.”
“Let me.” He grabbed my cart and pushed it for me. We went to his car and placed my bags on his trunk. “Did you sneak out and brought your room with you?” He asked pointing at his full trunk.
“Now, if I brought my room with me, three bags ain’t enough.” I said in a-matter-of-fact way.
“You’re right. Hop in.” He closed his trunk and we both made our way towards our doors. I put on my seatbelt and took out my phone. Oh, he said he got me skittles.
“Skittles please?”
“What?” He looked at me confused as he starts his engine.
“My green skittles? You texted me saying you brought me some.” He frowned a little. Again, he’s so sweet. He could get swarmed by ants.
“I ate them.” He said as he stars to reverse the car and drove out to the main road.
“Saw it coming.” I said looking out my window.
“Don’t be upset. I got more at home. Bought them especially for you.” He said as he glanced from me to the road. I smiled, he knows me too well. And he spoils me a lot too. He knows I just love sour skittles.
“Oh and by the way. Welcome to New York City.”
