Yumi (Ouran High School Host Club)

Hello, I know that I haven't really updated my other story but I had this idea and I had to write it down.

Beep... Beep... Beep

The alarm clock woke me up abruptly and I shot out of bed. Yawning I made my way to Aki’s room and opened the curtains.”Hey Aki, It’s time to wake up” I told him gently. He stirred underneath the covers but didn’t make a move to get up.

“Come on Aki, you need to get up.” Slowly, Aki’s eyes fluttered open and I was met with his dark blue eyes. “But Mama” he started “Sorry Aki, you know I need to go to school and anyway, Sai is coming to look after you soon” Aki looked slightly happier when Sai was mentioned but still gave me a pleading glance.

“But Mama, I want to stay with you!” I looked at Aki and sighed. “You know why Mama can’t do that sweetheart but I promise that when I get back you will have a special treat.” Aki’s eyes widened and he beamed up at me. Interrupting his daydream, I said “But first you have to get ready and eat breakfast like a big boy.” Smiling up at me he beamed and raced out of the room.

I made my way to the bathroom to find Aki scrubbing his teeth furiously. I smiled but said nothing. Looking into the mirror I saw a girl, with short, white hair and dark blue eyes. Her tanned face looked weary and dark circles made her look like a zombie. On her cheekbone there was an ugly bruise.

“Work” I thought to myself “Was brutal last night.” The bar where I worked at was downtown and they had no regard for the staff. This was a fairly normal occurrence.  I needed to pay the rent somehow though so I wasn’t complaining.

“Mama” The bright voice shook me out of my stupor “Look, I’m all done” For a two year old, Aki had a large vocabulary. The little boy had inherited my dark blue eyes but instead of a snow white, his hair was black as night. “The only sign of HIM on my child thank goodness” I thought to myself.

“Well done Aki” I congratulated him. He beamed up at me again and ran out of the bathroom as the buzzer went off at the door. “Aki, that’ll be Sai” I shouted “Open the door please” I heard the sound of multiple locks being opened and I smiled absent mindedly as I heard a squeal come from the front door.

“There at it again” I thought to myself as I exited the bathroom. When Sai saw me he smiled and said “I’ll be taking him down to the park today Yumi.”

“Thank you Sai, I’ll pay when I get back from work tonight” Sai frowned but didn’t argue. He and I had had a few conversations involving his pay but despite how many times he offered to look after Aki for free, I wouldn’t allow it.

“I love you sweetheart” I said to Aki as he walked out of the door with Sai.

“Never forget that”

I stood there for a while, watching the door but it remained shut and the apartment remained empty. I sighed and thought to myself “Today is my first day at Ouran”

Ouran Academy was one of the most prestigious schools in Japan and me, who had barely enough money to pay the rent, was able to go there. I was allowed there due to my high academic skill and my musical talent. I could play the clarinet and the saxophone but my singing voice was rubbish.

I had gone through countless exams to be able to get in and even now as I made my way to the school I wondered “Why did I get the application forms at all?”

Due to the high cost of the school uniform, I wore baggy jeans and trousers and large glasses that covered up most of my face. I had also bound my breasts and covered up my neck. I was going there disguised as a boy because last time I was approached as a girl...
