I wanted to say that there will be flashbacks in this book. This is the first flashback so far. There will probably not be a lot of flashbacks. Since this book's POV is third person omniscient, the flashbacks could be from anyone's perspectives. Anyways, please enjoy this and sorry for the change. Also, sorry for leaving you readers in a cliff hanger on chapter 1. Today's flashback will be on Roald and the time when the sea monster had visited in his time. Here is some background knowledge.
Background Info:
In this flashback, Roald is 23 years old. He is mastered in fishing. In his time, there was another captain. Later when Roald had become experienced, he became the captain. Liam and Olivia are not currently born of course. Roald's wife is currently Roald's friend.
Roald Third Person POV
It had been a long day at his work day. He had prepared many fishes for the Americans. No matter how many fishes they gave away to them, they were never satisfied. Though, they did give pounds of money.
He sighed as he walked his long way home. In his village, homes were a bit peculiar. They were not the homes you would see today with all the bright welcoming doors. They were the type of homes that would give you a bad vibe. The paint of the homes were chipped like someone hadn't fixed that in a long time. The streets smelled like rotten eggs. The most revolting part was the streets. They looked like something out of a dangerous or poor place. The only reason this village was known was for its fish. Definitely not its economic/home vibe.
He was about to enter his house when he realized he forgot the keys to his house back at the ship where they had been fishing. His mom and dad were out for work and would only come later. He jogged back to the ship and started to search for his satchel where his key was placed in. He sighed in relief when he found the keys. He was about to head back to his house when he heard a roar. He slowly turned around and gasped.
There was a sea monster there standing there narrowing its eyes at him. He shook in fear. These type of encounters were what his dad warned him about. "Look who it is. It's Roald."
Roald tried talking but he couldn't form words. Questions ran through his head. How did this monster know his name? What did he want with him?
Eventually, he forced himself to talk. "What do you want?" His voice wavered.
The sea monster threw his head back and made a sound that sounded like he was laughing. "OH, so you don't know?" Then the sea monster turned serious again and glared at him. "Your father is the problem. You know what he did?" Roald looked confused. "Oh so he didn't tell his own son. He took my whole family. Captured them for Americans. Used my family for money. Killed my whole family. You know what I'm going to do now? I'm going to do the same thing he did to me." Roald look terrified. The sea monster laughed without humor. "Oh yes, and I'm going to enjoy every second of it."
