So this one has aspects of the original Lightning Thief book, graphic novel, and very few aspects from the movie. I am only taking credit for my own original character.

Nancy Bobofit knew that Percy and I couldn't do anything. We were still on probation after a small incident at the pool... Which is why we had to deal with keeping our mouths shut and our hands to ourselves while the Yancy Academy bully hit our friend Grover with her lunch. A peanut butter and ketchup sandwich. Blech! Yes, it looked just as disgusting as it sounds. And it didn't look any nicer all over Gover and the bus seat.

"I'm gonna kill her." Percy mumbled to himself.

"It's ok. I like peanut butter." Grover responded while another projectile of sandwich came flying at him. "That's it." Percy said while standing and Grover and I pulled him back into his seat.

"You're already on probation. You know who will get blamed if anything happens." He reminded Percy.

We'll never know. Perhaps if Percy or I had retaliated, it could have saved us from this mess. It probably could have saved our butts just a little while longer...

Once we all arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, we piled off the bus and followed our Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner, as he wheeled to the first exhibit on our tour.

He led us to the Greek/Roman wing, naturally and he brought us to a statue depicting a man killing a sleeping monster. The monster was a humanoid, but had similar appearances to a bull. There was writing above the statue, but it was a mix of wierd shapes. Maybe it was my dyslexia messing with me again, but I was 90% sure that the writing wasn't in English.

Mr. Brunner spun his wheelchair around to face us. He scowled over at the large group of Yancey delinquents who clearly didn't care about the educational aspect of the field trip. Mr. Brunner managed to lock eyes with me. My mistake.

"Miss Jackson, could you please describe for the group what the statue is showing?" Brunner asked. I had no clue what it showed. I liked Brunner's class, I really did, but I've never been the best student. Instead, I looked at the writing again for some reason. I felt a tug in my chest, as though I was drawn to it. The letters were still disoriented, but then my dyslexia began working backwards. Instead of the letters mixing themselves up even more, they straightened themselves out.

Theseus kills the Minotaur

Oh, thank God! A myth I actually know!

"That's Theseus killing the Minotaur in the Labyrinth." I quickly shut up after since that's about as much as I know, about the myth without racking my brain for useless facts.

Please don't ask another question...

Mr. Brunner nods, but doesn't seem impressed with my short answer. "Correct, but why did Theseus kill the Minotaur?" He asked.

"Umm..." He always had to ask a follow up question. I tried looking at the writing again, but there was nothing else to be unscrambled. I was going to have to BS it. Not unusual for me.

"He needed to kill the Minotaur to keep the Athenian slaves from being eaten." That sounded about right. Brunner was nodding which was a plus, but he still had that never ending look of disapointment on his face that he wore every time I answered his questions. Like I had never given him as much of the answer as he would have liked. I could have told him the whole myth, if I knew it, and he still would have wanted more from me! It wasn't fair!
