Marvel heroes x Steve Rogers x Reader x Johnny Storm

Inspired by the comic version: Civil War Part 1.

Manhatten was up in flames. People running as fast as they can away from the fight. Sibling against sibling. Families torn apart. Life long friendships destroyed. Everyone out for blood.

Heroes against villains. Heroes against heroes. Bloody war in the streets of New York.

Civil War.

Steve looked up and saw this torment and finally, against all of his planing, he knew the right move.

"Oh my God."

"What's wrong?" Sam asks as he descends from the sky towards his friend.

The heroes and villains are beginning to be confused. Why was Captain America no longer fighting?

Villains are contained by the police as the heroes form two lines and watch as the vibranium shield, that symbolizes everything Captain America stands for, tumbles to the ground.

Tears fall from Steve's eyes as he turns away from his friend. "They're right. We're not fighting for the people anymore. Falcon... Look at us. We're just fighting." Steve's voice breaks at the end of the sentence.

"Cap, what are you doing? They'll throw you in jail if you surrender." Johnny Storm says as he 'flames off' beside Steve.

"We were beating them man. We were winning back there." Sam tries again. No one but Steve can see the larger picture. No one... except Tony.

"Everything but the argument." Steve slowly removes his helmet. "And they are not arresting Captain America... They are arresting Steve Rogers. That is a very different thing." He holds out his hands to the nearest NYPD officers, where they cuff him and begin escorting him away.

You run through the row of heroes to see your boyfriend marching through the streets, tied up like a criminal. "Steve please stop! You don't have to do this."

He can not even turn around to face you. Steve knew what he would see if he did. Your (e/c) eyes full of sorrow and your tear ducts filling, the same expression of shock that the rest of the heroes wore but also a look of betrayal. No. Steve would not let that be the last image he may ever see of you. That was not going to be an image that would be burned in his mind forever.

"No (y/n), I have to do this. It is time for the people of the world to have their safety be your top priority. No more fighting."

Sam ran over to you side and Johnny wrapped his arm around you and pulled you against his chest. Matt Murdock, Kate Bishop, and Elijah Bradley stood around you for a small amount of comfort.

You could barely hear yourself through your sobs, but you screamed for all you were worth, "Steve please!" you begged.

"Stand down troops... That's an order."

*Prison cell in the new secret SHIELD facility*

"

You have ten minutes." The guard tells you as you walk inside and the door locks behind you.

Steve is sitting on a gray bench, slumped over while deep in thought. It was never uncommon for you to see Steve this way, but it shocked you that he was in an ugly, orange, prison issued, jumpsuit.

He looks up at you and looks down quickly, embarrassed that you have to see him this way. "(Y/n)... You should leave." He says. His voice is barely above a whisper.
