Ashton has been caught up with his budding relationship with Manny. They snuck off together and left Elodine and I alone in the house. At some point we snuck off too.
I thrust my apartment door open and Elodine rushes in “finally alone!”
We find ourselves snuggled up in my bed sleeping for a while and when we wake up Ashton is hovering over our bed glaring at us
Ashton said he’d keep an open mind about us but the way he’s looking at me I don’t feel like he’s still feeling that anymore
“Elodine, I think you ought to go home now don’t you?”
Elodine sighed “be fair Ashton, I know you’re only using me as an excuse to go see Manny
Ashton leaned against the doorway “and what if I am?”
“What if we all went to Elodine’s house, I get to be with Elodine and you get to see Manny, peace is restored” I laughed
The ride to Elodine’s house is short, Elodine gets out of the car and when she sees Manny they hug like they haven’t seen each other in ages. I understand Manny…there’s this kind of high you feel when you’re around Elodine and when she’s gone, even for a day the next time you see her it’s like a reunion
I lean against the hood my car watching as Elodine animatedly tells Manny something. She bites her lip, looking over at me and then I hear her lips move to say ‘love’ and I feel that bubbly feeling in my stomach
It’s like acid, it kind of burns. Maybe it’s because I thought this whole thing between us would happen when she got older and it was legal. I kept trying to ignore her feelings for me and move on…I didn’t think I’d fall in love with her while she was still fifteen…
