Chapter One ~Hi Best Friend~

“Do you have any clothing in your closet that aren’t black?” Shailene asked, clicking my clothing hangers from one side of my wardrobe’s bar to the other.
“Yeah! Colours would be great!” Holly injected cheerfully.
“keep bouncing on my bed and you’ll break it!” I shot back at Holly, scowling at her “and no, colour would definitely not be good”
She just stuck her tongue out at me.
“What are we even still doing here?” I asked Shailene deciding whether or not to wrestle Holly for the health and safety of my bed.
“We just have to wait till Amreen and Hunter get here. Then we can leave and go where ever it is we’re going” She replied, closing my closet’s doors.
“Yippee!” Holly cheered. I just shook my head at her again.
“I BELIEVE I CAN FLYYYYYYYYY” She sang loudly.
“You can fly already, no need to sing about it” I said.
“I BELIEVE I CAN TOUCH THE SKYYYYY” Oh my GAWD! Does it not end?!
I started pacing in front of the bed and tried to block out her all too cheerful and perfectly pitched singing voice. Curse angels.
Before my mind melted and I started transforming into a goody good, the door burst open with a loud bang. I smiled evilly and jumped over to the intruders.
“I spy with my little eye, my favourite little brown person” I said and hugged her.
“I’m here too you know” Hunter pushed past us and walked into my room.
“What crawled up her ass and died?” I murmured to Amreen and she just smiled a little and shrugged.
“Well, that’s everyone. Let’s roll out” Shailene said and we all headed out.

We were currently sitting in the cafeteria awaiting the arrival of some new kid. Yippee, so excited... not.
“And then he told me I was a really good singer and that I should go to this jam with him tonight, but I told him I couldn’t so he just gave me his number instead” Shailene blabbed on, I wonder who the flavour of the month is today. I was just listening to the different conversations around me when the Headmaster made his grand entrance.
“Students! Quiet down now quiet down. This is our newest addition to our great big school family, his name is Joseph and I expect only the upmost respect and kindness towards him, do you understand me?” His eyes swept the crowded room of children and nodded once he saw everyone had agreed.
“Every well, I need to see Amelia Lockheart, everyone else is dismissed” He concluded his little speech and everyone got up to leave.
I wonder why he wanted to see me, I haven’t even done anything this time, I think. I was still thinking through the last ‘unacceptable’ fun activity I did when I made it to the Headmaster and the noob, I mean new student.
They were both silent until every other person had left the cafeteria.
“Well, Miss Lockheart I would like you to meet your long lost twin brother, Joseph Lockheart”
