Will you still love me?

She looked around the room and saw everyone gathered around her. Matt was kneeling beside her and holding her hand, everyone had tears in their eyes, she looked at Matt with confusion written all over her face.
"What's wrong?"
Matt looked at his mom and back at Nicole.
"...Nicole...they couldn't save our baby..."
she took in a deep breath, and closed her eyes. Ami motioned billy and the boys out to give them a moment alone together.
Nicole shook her head and let her tears fall down her cheeks.
Matt squeezed her hand and kissed it.
"I'm so sorry Nicole....the doctor said it was a boy."
Nicole looked at him with sorrow in her heart and tears in her eyes.
"...I've always wanted a little boy...and you gave me one...thank you."
He wiped her tears from her cheek.
"I love you so much Nicole, I want you to know I don't care if we never have children of our own, as long as I have you and Sarah, I have everything."
She gave him a smile through her sorrow, and he leaned in and kissed her.
"Your my everything."
He whispered against her lips.

A short while later, the nurse came into the room and told Nicole she would be released tomorrow, and that she needed to get some rest. Matt asked if he could stay with her for the night and the nurse went and got him some blankets.
Ami, billy, and the boys headed back to brown town and said they'd be back in the morning to pick them up.

As they both got settled down for the night, matt was covered up in blankets and sitting by Nicole in a chair.
Nicole tried to sleep, but she couldn't, the only thing she could do was cry.

Matt couldn't sleep either, he looked over to Nicole who had her back to him, and she was shivering. He stood up and sat on the edge of the bed and put his hand on her. She rolled over with tears in her eyes.
"Matt?... if I never give you children will you still love me?"
Matt leaned in closer to her.
"Of course, I said that earlier, and I meant it, I don't say things I don't mean, Nicole."
She nodded her head and smiled.
"Okay... I just wanted to make sure...
Will you come sleep next to me? I think I'd sleep better with you here by me."
Matt smiled and slid under the covers with Nicole, she rolled over to her side and let matt hold her in his arms. She laid there a moment thinking about everything that had happened, then closed her eyes and fell asleep. She felt safe in his arms, his presence reassured her everything was gonna be okay.
Matt felt sorry for what all she had been through these past few weeks, but he was glad he was the one that was there for her, and that he could hold her when she needed to be held, and to wipe her tears when she wasn't strong enough to do so on her own. She meant the world to him, and he would die trying to prove that to her. children or no children, he still loved her.
