I Just Dont Understand

Don't worry, I said to her.She looked at me as if I had just kicked a puppy in front of her.I stared into her eyes trying to remember and sum up what had just happened to me and this poor girl.W-what is this p-place, she said then stared back at me which kind of made me feel even worse.Her blue eyes were like deep oceans that swept me into thought I couldn't comprehend nor understand.Her eyes reminded me of the light blue color of the walls at mom's house...My thoughts were wrecked when the door once more swung open.Jessie,as I was expecting, walked in."Hi ladies", she said."This is your "roommate" for now",she said while doing air quotes.
I looked at the new girl.She didn't notice because her focus was now on Jessie.Jessie continued asking me questions and like always I answered them best I could but I couldn't think straight.Before I knew it, Jessie was saying goodbye and leaving.She didn't pay attention to me when I started questioning her about the new girl.I sighed and looked at the new girl.I should probably stop calling her that...So what's ymour name? I asked her.H-hailey...hmmm, That's a pretty name I said to her.I smiled and she politely returned it.T-thanks,she said.Oh, your welcome Hailey.I sat down and looked at the ceiling.Ya know,after a few days this place doesn't feel so empty.How long have you been here? Hailey asked.She seemed nervous and uneasy.Not very long...maybe a few days or so,I replied.So,what's it like around here? Hailey asked. Oh, Its not that exciting as you have seen. O-oh...Hailey seemed more uneasy to me than before but I didn't want to scare her more so I just stop talking.Hailey yawned and leaned against the wall.Hey are you tired? I asked Hailey.She seemed startled when I said something.I guess it was because we hadn't said anything in a while.Look,I don't know what your going through and I know you don't know me but I'm here and you can tell me anything,I said.Hailey seemed a little frustrated.I realized I hadn't told her my name.Im sorry,I told her. I laughed and told her my name.She laughed a little to which made me happy knowing I made her smile a little.So your name is Sarah? Hailey asked. Yep,I replied.So wanna be friends? Hailey smiled and laughed a little louder. Sure,I said.I realized it was getting late outside and yawned.I looked at the floor and thought about how hard and cold it was again.I really didn't want Hailey to sleep on the floor her first night here.I walked to the door and knocked on it.Knowing at least someone would hear it.Jessie started walking to the door and through the small window I saw her slightly mad face.She opened the door and said what.I apologized and said I was wondering if they had a cot or some blankets for Hailey to sleep on."I don't know but I'll have to look",Jessie said to me.Jessie ran down the white hall way as fast as she could,I was assuming.It looked like she was in a hurry to get home.I missed that word...home.I missed having a home.Jessie came back with a few blankets and pillows."Here,she handed them to me,It's all we have",Jessie said.I looked down at the pillows and small blankets seeming satisfied so Jessie ran back out of the room and closed the big door with the small window.So Hailey....What do you want to do with these pillo-i turned and looked at her noticing she was on the floor asleep.I laughed a little hoping that it wouldn't wake her up.I gently unfolded the covers and placed most of them on her.I set the smallest blanket and smallest pillow aside for me and put everything else around Hailey.I really didn't want her to feel like I did when I first got her.As I was placing the last blanket on Hailey something or something's..fell out and hit the floor, making Hailey jump a little in her sleep.I picked them up and automatically my mouth started watering.It was a bunch of candy bars and a few other snacks.I hadn't have very much to eat over these few days.I guess I didn't realize how hungry I was until the sight of food was present.I opened the first candy bar I picked up which just happened to be a Mars bar.I ate it quickly and put down the small blanket and pillow.I laid down and smiled,surprising it was very comfy.Once again I got lost in thought and drifted off into dream land...
