As Chad, Allyssa, and Emily - all entered through the big doors, they were suddenly shown into a huge area - possibly as big as a basketball court.
The doors then suddenly closed behind them. A big 3D layout of a transparent, cyan map - possibly twelve meters squared, and scattered with small white dots - lay above a table that was the same length as the map.
The table displayed cyan coloured control panels - as it sat right in the center of the room, as metallic plates scattered across the surface of the area - and the walls.
Big beams of white lights shone down on what looked to be the metal rims of doors, without the doors themselves.
There were eight individual metal rims that were laid on the right and left side of the massive room, being sixteen in total. Each metal rim had a tall, metal pillar which sat to the left of it - that was at least one and a half meters tall - with a glowing, cyan coloured control panel on top.
"Hey, what are those?" Allyssa said, pointing to the nearest metal rim.
"Those are teleporters. The panels beside them can be altered, making you be able to teleport to a specific area inside these massive walls.
"The giant map you see in front of us displays the area inside the walls, itself." Chad said as he approached one of the nearest panels that lay on the surface - which projected the map; and started zooming into a small area on the far left side of the map.
A small town was displayed, while it looked to be covered in sprinkles of what may have been snow. Cyan coloured words hovered above the small town, as it read: 'Western Town District'.
"This is the place I want to take you to meet the others." Chad said, turning to Allyssa - who was beside him - staring at the control panel that he had just used.
A big circle lay on the top center of the panel, while small words were present below it. Allyssa could just make out what the words read: '143km from Troyan District'.
"Oh, ok!" Allyssa said looking up at Chad, smiling.
"I'm going to go set up the teleporter now, so you can mess around with that map while I go do that." He said, walking towards the left teleporter closest to him. Allyssa nodded. Emily came and approached Allyssa, learning her arm on Allyssa's right shoulder.
"So, how's it goin'?"
"Chad's a nice guy, Em'. Thanks for bringing me here to meet him."
"Chad? You mean 'your lover'." She said snorting again. Allyssa shook her head, annoyed.
"Hey, Chad."
"Yeah?" He said, calling from the other side of the room - standing next to the teleporters' control panel.
"What are these white dots that are scattered across the map?"
"Oh, those? Those are people, well, security - I mean."
"Oh, ok. Why do you need security around this place? I mean, it is massive and all...but why would anyone want to spent their time here? It is just a simulation, is it not?"
"Yeah, but there are some days, and weeks, were I shut down the area - just for maintenance and checking stuff in the districts. I don't want any disruptions while the personnel are checking things, so I have to keep role-players out of the area for a while."
"Oh." Allyssa said, as if she had just understood a really hard question that had been explained to her.
"If you wanna' ask me anymore questions about this place, feel free to do so. I don't mind."
"Alright." Allyssa said, when suddenly - the teleporter that Chad had approached - lit up. The inner area of the rim started to display a swirling white colour - until it shaped into what looked to be the entrance into a darkened area - partly lit with a small street light.
A small, two story brick building was visible behind it. Four windows stuck out from the buildings side, while the entrance of it seemed to be nowhere - mostly from their perspective.
"Now, before we go in - I want you to put this watch on." Chad said, handing two watches out to Emily and Allyssa - who had approached him. Chad already had his watch on.
"What are these for?" Allyssa said, wrapping it around her right wrist.
"These watches have many functions. The reason I want you to put it on is because it displays a beacon, or 'dot' on the map - when we enter. Another reason is because these watches emit an invisible projector and shield around us - which is mostly just used for the simulation.
"The projector is used for displaying realistic wounds and cuts. For example, lets just say your arm is, well, I don't know, chopped off, then, the projector displays what would be left of your available arm, but don't worry, the part of your arm that was chopped off - is still there, except, it just gives the illusion as if it wasn't.
"The projected part of your arm that was chopped off - falls to the ground, but is actually just a hologram. The projector around your body emits strong signals around specific areas, such as your hands and feet - so you are able to interact with holographic objects.
"The whole area itself is projected with a three-dimensional projector - emitted by the walls - which supports the logicality of the projected object and its movements."
"Wow, that's actually really cool!"
"Now, the shield is just used to prevent people from physically harming themselves in the area. The shield slows down the velocity of people when they fall from heights higher than one meter, while it also emits oxygen into the individual at specified times, such as being underwater, in a sandstorm, snowstorm, and also compacted areas.
"Mostly just areas where oxygen is minimal. The watch can also control the temperature of the wearers body - making them immune to frostbite, sunburns, and other nasty stuff like that. Also for comfort, too"
"Geez, for such a tiny thing like this, this could really evolve humanity."
Heh, hopefully - one day, Allyssa, one day."
"So, is there anything else that this watch can do?"
"Well, the other thing it can do is be a communicator for personnel and role-players. You can 'text' and even 'Facetime' the person - as the humans call it. It also displays the time...because it's a watch."
"Huh, alrighty' then." Allyssa giggled, as Chad and Emily clicked a small button on the side of the watch - forming a cyan coloured outline around them - which slowly disappeared. Chad approached Allyssa and clicked the small button on her watch. The cyan outline made its way around Allyssa, then disappeared.
"If you're wondering what that thing is that appears around your body - it's just the shield and projector scanning you, just to make out where your limbs and organs and stuff are.
"There's a bunch of really complicated stuff about how the projector makes wounds and causes parts of bodies to change - when an object, or weapon - come in contact with that part, but I don't really want to go over it now.
"I'll be here forever, and also waste our time with my friends that I want you to meet. The last thing I will tell you about this simulation is that the weapons have a half solid and half projected surface - meaning they wont actually harm the individual when coming in contact with them.
"What happens is, part that does come in contact with their shield and projected layer - disappears, making it look like it went through the person, that's what the sword-based projectors do; as the firearms are a little bit more complicated, but similar.
"Oh, and the walls around this region control the weather inside the area, itself. It can also be altered." Chad said, out of breath from giving mouthfuls of information, "alright, let's go meet the others." He said at last.
