Emily closed her eyes - expecting the void that covered her vision - to wrap itself around her - completely hiding her from view. Amazingly, the thought actually worked.
Chad payed no attention to the locker...instead, he approached the door on the other side of the room - read the panels display, then did what he had done with the previous door - forcing it to lock to the side.
He stepped through and into the viewless hallway.
A few minutes passed, as Emily lay in the locker. She decided it would be safe to get out of there - now, especially since she couldn't hear Chad anywhere. He was probably in a hall that lay in the neighboring wall.As she get out of the locker, the silence lingered through her skin - making her slightly cold. She walked through the door she entered through - which was now officially bent and broken.
Emily wondered how the machete was powerful enough to nearly destroy such a door. Maybe the material was partly Ostrenvaxian.
Apparently their metal is really strong - especially to the point of being able to bend other, less stronger metals - such as the doors surface.Emily took one last look at the door Chad exited through, then turned away and walked. She wandered through a few halls which she hadn't gone through - looking into occasional rooms that displayed large windows.
The rooms' mostly just had a long, white, wooden table with white metal chairs, a water container (with plastic cups), and a large whiteboard full of little details - mostly equations and chemical-element combinations, all in black, blue, and red whiteboard markers.
Emily spent a few hours walking around the endless halls, until she eventually came across a large door which she hadn't seen within that time.
It was a door that could possibly fit a tank through its rim, while it was probably used for vehicle transportation. I must be close to one of the towns' that lay near the walls...probably the Western Town District. These large doors generally appear near simulation entrances, especially near towns' that lay within the walls boundary, Emily thought to herself, activating the panel that lay on the right side of the large door.
When the door swung open - a big room lay in front of it. Another large door sat on the left wall, beside a smaller door. A panel sat next to both doors, possibly able to work. Hopefully.
Then, she realised there would be no point in going through to the simulation area, especially since she was trying to escape. I must get to the entrance of the region, there - I will be able to escape, and probably get some help, too. As she turned around to walk back into the halls, a figure stood in front of the only door that exited through to the rest of the halls. It was Chad.
His machete still lay in his right hand, while his left eye seemed to twitch slightly. He looked very PO'd. There was no way Emily could manoeuvre around him - to get to the door. The glare he was giving off didn't help, either.
"What a surprise. I've finally found you. You're lucky this is just child's play, because I could really tear off your limbs right now, but I prefer not to. You should be happy you're a close friend of mine, or I definitely would have killed you already."
"Why are you doing this!?" Emily questioned as tears started to form in her eyes.
"I'm not doing anything, Emily. I'm just ridding this world of pests. The Shadow Beasts have suffered enough. They should be given a chance to live in this dimension."
"By killing innocent people!?"
"They're not innocent, Emily. They believe the Aetrii'vullians will completely wipe out the Shadow Beasts from existence. All we want to do is give this dimension a chance to live like gods. Anyways, this dimension does need a bit of cleaning up to do."
"Y-you're crazy, Chad! This is not you! Whatever's in your head, you need to ignore it...completely!"
"Crazy? I'm not crazy...you're the one that's crazy, Emily. I'm trying to save you from pain and suffering. You'll be immortal, just like us. You can live happily, with me and your other friends...in a world without the need to worry. ISN'T THIS WHAT YOU WANT, EMILY!?"
"No, I don't want to be immortal. I don't want to be a vessel of someone.
"I want to be in a world where you are you...not this...thing." Emily answered, tears rolling down her face. Chad sighed.
"When we take over this dimension, you won't need to be a vessel...you can be you, as I can be m-
"YOU'RE NOT YOU, CHAD!" Emily screamed, "YOU ARE BEING CONTROLLED! I WILL NOT ACCEPT WHATEVER YOU SAY...YOU NEED TO FIGHT THE EVIL THING IN YOUR HEAD!" She huffed - after the mouthful of words left her, crying.
Silence roamed - while the slight, painful groans left Emily as she cried, her face covered by her hands, stooping.
"So be it." Chad said quietly, waving the machete by his side. He looked down at Emily, slowly walking towards her. Emily noticed his approach, as she quickly got up and stepped away from him. He stopped. So did Emily.
She saw a small metal pole laying beside her, so she picked it up - for self defence. She was also standing beside the door - which sat on the left of her.
She was ready to activate the panel if Chad tried to attack her, "I'm terribly sorry, Emily. Please...I never meant to hurt you." He said quietly, "I just wanted to give you an opportunity to live in a safe and carefree world. This is how much of a friend I think you are to me.
"Now, please. Let me make you one of us." He said, putting his arms out for a hug, dropping the machete by his side - which made a big clanking noise as it hit the ground.
Emily didn't know what to do. Should she trust him? What if he went back to normal...does the evil thing ware off after a while? Would he betray her? Or...was he actually serious?
Emily stepped a little bit towards Chad, but just before she went to accept his hug, she noticed a slight smirk on his face. A huge rush of anxiety hit her. He was definitely lying.Emily quickly turned to the door, activated its panel, and rushed through to the other side. Before she ran straight - she turned to close the door - which Chad tried to go through and lunge at her - which he failed, as Emily slammed the pole into his face - forcing him to stagger, then fall.
As he got up, he realised blood started pouring down from his nose. He starred at Emily, then at his machete. Just before Chad could pick it up, Emily quickly closed the door and started slamming the end of the pole into the panel - forcing it to break, wires' snaking down from its now broken circuit.
Emily took a quick break, just before the tip of the machete appeared through the doors gap. She could hear Chad starting to laugh hysterically.
There was no time to rest, she had to get away from this area as fast as she could. She turned and ran away from the door - following the road inside a large concrete tunnel, guided by lights - which was where she apparently was.
