CHAPTER 5- DISAPPOINMENT
Both Lauren and Jughead were shocked to say the least when they spotted Archie Andrews extremely close to the Music Teacher Ms.Grundy. Lauren and Jughead were both running hands through their hair repeatedly horror written on their faces as they contemplated what to do.
"What the hell are we going to do?" Lauren exclaimed. Jughead furrowed his eyebrows as Lauren took a deep breathe. "Should we talk to him?"
Jughead groans, pulling his beanie down in frustration. "I don't know Laur. This is so confusing. We were suppose to go on a road trip and he bailed on me. I think Ms.Grundy is the reason."
"I think we should talk to him. I'm just so disappointed, has he changed so much? What is he up to?" Lauren said once again.
"Yeah we should. And honestly I have no idea." Jughead nodded standing up, ready to walk out of his booth at Pop's until Lauren stopped him again.
"After my shift, jug." Lauren said sternly wig her eyebrows narrowed. Jughead sighed but nodded nevertheless walking out of the shop. "And don't even think about doing it without me."
Just as the boy entered an older women walked in. Her hair curled and her make up done perfectly. Lauren furrowed her eyebrows, the women looking oddly familiar.
Hesitantly she walked towards the older girl with a warm smile. "Can I help you?"
"Yes actually, I'm looking for Pops. I kinda wanted to apply for a job." The still unknown women smiled at her and Lauren nods.
"I think he's around the back, let me go check. What's you name?"
"Hermione. Hermione Lodge." She reached her hand forward to shake and Lauren smiled reciprocating her actions.
"You're Veronica's mom." Lauren said though the statement came out more as a question. Veronica's mom smiled immediately at the mention of her daughters name.
"That's me. Have you met my daughter?"
"Yeah, I have right here actually."
"Are you by any chance Teresa's Daughter?"
"Yeah. Im Lauren."
"Your mom and I," Veronica's mom started. "We were actually best friends."
"Really?" Lauren asked, getting sad at the fact that her mother was rotting in a prison cell.
"Yeah. We were quite the duo. I hope you and Ronnie are good friends too." Lauren quickly nodded her head and left to find the owner.

Veronica had arrived later that day to give both women some company.
"Your doing great mom, better then me this week." Veronica says trying to assures her mother.
Lauren nods at this giving the older Lodge a comforting hand. "You're doing better then me."
"Hey, you're a great waitress." Veronica smiled and Lauren couldn't help but smile back.
There was something about Veronica that really made you want to be her friend. He charm just screamed best friend material and that's something Lauren really needed. Sure, she had Betty and Jughead but she needed someone with a fiery passion and a bad ass.
"Yeah, were surviving Ronnie by our wits because that's what we Lodge women do. If dad could see us now..." Mrs Lodge trailed off letting the daughter complete for her.
"He would say you look beautiful in your new uniform."
Lauren finally sighed when she realized her shift was over and took off her apron. "My shift is over ladies. I'll see you at school Ronnie." Lauren gave the girl a wave and walked out of the shop with her coat. Though it was not very cold it was still chilly so Lauren could never go anywhere without her coat.
As she was exiting a certain Red head walked up to her with a small smile and Lauren tried to do the same but she was clearly disappointed with him.
"Hey, Laur." Archie said as she wrapped her blanket-like clothing around her.
"Hi arch. I was just headed out."
Archie nods. "I can see that. Wait for me and I'll walk you home." Almost immediately she got a text from Jughead.
Jughead 👑:
Meet me at Archie's place.
Lauren sighed and nodded. "Be quick. I want to eat."
Archie nods walking in to the shop as Lauren takes a seat on the pavement, tired and worn out. It was hard to catch up with school and work shifts at a cafe. Lauren was still convinced that her sister was doing nothing compared to her, all she did was leave late in the evening and come back when she was going to school. She was just tired. So tired of everything, not seeing her mom or dad. Or going home to a family made her so sad. Maybe that's the reason Lauren could barely look at the pictures around her home.
Archie walked out finally with Veronica who was looking around awkwardly.
"Shall we?" Veronica asked.
Lauren and Archie both nodded.
The walk was quite awkward at first until the two started to talk about Betty, from there it got more awkward for Lauren to the point she was regretting walking with the pair.
"... I would love to be great friends with you too Lauren." Veronica said and The said girl looked up at the mention of her name.
"Me too, Veronica."

Heyyy, sorry for the really late and short update but I just wanted to get something out there. I've recently been obsessed with shadowhunters and have been glued to it since the first episode. Studies are starting to get on me and I don't know how often I can update my books.
Thank you for being patient, I really appreciate it. I really hope I can update more regularly but no promises yet.
Also I don't want to be that author but please vote and comment if you can, it would really make my day!
