Hoseok practically flew up the steps, his lungs gasping for air and his sides burning. He wanted to give up, to pass out, to maybe just sit down for one moment. He was about to give in as he reminded himself what the was running for. As he finally, finally reached the roof of the building, his thighs were burning as well. He stood there a moment, breathing heavily. Then Yoongi's silhouette moved into his sight, moonlight shining against his pale face.
"Hyung!" he yelled. Yoongi winced and looked over his shoulder, then turned back around and stepped onto the gate.
Hoseok cautiously stepped closer, careful not to upset the black haired boy.Yoongi stood on the thin fence, his clothes covered in blood. Once again, there were slits on his slender wrists.
"Hyung, please don't do this. Please come down." Hoseok's voice seemed strangely calm, considering his best friend was about to attempt suicide.
"Why should I?" Yoongi asked in a scarily neutral voice, "no one likes me anyway. The A.R.M.Y. hates me, I'm useless to BTS. You're all better off without me." He leaned forward slightly, as if he was thinking about the damage the fall from that height could bring. Although he tried to sound nonchalant, his voice as well as his body were shaking.
"Of course someone likes you! We all love you, Hyung, I love you! Please, please don't jump! Just come towards me, it's going to be Okay. Okay?" Hoseok slowly moved a step closer, stepping in a puddle. His bright blue socks got drenched immediately, but he pretended not to care. Yoongi turned around. He didn't leave the fence. Hoseok decided to see it as a small success.
"If the A.R.M.Y. loves me so much, why... why do so many tell me to leave? Or kill myself. They're all right. I'm useless and a burden to all of you. I'm sorry, Hoseok-ah. There's just no other way. You'll be better without me." Tears trailed down Yoongi's face. His dark eyes showed the pain he had been through, they mirrored the darkness of his depression. Hoseok had never seen anyone that sad.
"Hyung, there's no way I'll be better off without you! BTS needs you, I need you! We all love you so much, I can't go on without you! Please don't leave me, Yoongi, I love you. Just come here, we'll be okay," Hoseok plead. His voice had changed to near hysterical, he streched his hand out towards Yoongi.
"Are- are you serious?" Yoongi's expression softened, tears still glistening in his eyes. He unconsciously raised his hand near Hoseok's outstretched one. His foot moved off the wall and swung around before he set in on the ground in front of him. Hoseok opened his arms to pull Yoongi in a tight hug.
"As serious as I'll ever be." Hoseok was thankful as his voice calmed down again. Yoongi stepped up to him and hugged him back. Hoseok felt his tears soak into his t-shirt. The freezing cold night air swept around them, but neither of them noticed.
"I'm so, so sorry. I'm sorry. I-" Yoongi sobbed, clutching Hoseok's waist like a lifeline.
"It's okay, Hyung." Hoseok softly kissed him on the head.
"Thank you."
Hoseok opened his eyes, tears streaming down his face once again. His sister sat next to his bed, softly hugging him as he sat up. She stroked his hair while he grasped onto her just like Yoongi had done in his dream.
"Did you save him this time?"
